“I’ll say it again-we aren’t planning for marriage,” Stephanie spoke through gritted teeth. She wanted nothing to do with Crispin at all.

“You two, please don’t fight. I’ll leave you alone.” Crispin was well aware of what Amanda. wanted to tell the Allegras. Since she asked, he would go.

Jack and Edith shared a look. Both found confusion in each other’s eyes. What are they talking about?

“Then, it must be her plan, is it?” Amanda was biased toward Stephanie being the person behind her abduction. It has to be her! Crispin holds no grudge against me.

Stephanie was offended upon hearing that. “What the hell are you talking about?” she growled. “Just because you have Dad and Mom to back you up doesn’t mean you can make groundless accusations, Amanda!”

Stephanie’s heart was hammering against her chest. She didn’t want to be involved in this matter just because Crispin said something he shouldn’t.

“Why are you so agitated? I didn’t mention your name.” Crossing her arms, Amanda tilted her chin in challenge.

“I-I am not! You’re being unreasonable! Even if the family owes you for not raising you all these years, you don’t have to vent it out on me, do you?”

Meanwhile, Jack kept quiet when his daughters were fighting. After Edith spoke up, he finally said, “It’s good to have you back, Amanda. Elias and I will look into this matter. We’ll find out the truth. I’ll hold the party again on another day. In any case, nobody can stop me from announcing you as my daughter to the public.”

Looking at her excited father, Amanda repeated, “Thanks, Dad. Thanks, Mom.”

The next second, Edith’s tears rolled down her cheeks. She covered her mouth with a hand, so nobody could hear her sobbing. Finally, Amelia is calling us ‘Dad’ and ‘Mom’ again.

“Can you believe it, Jack? Our beloved Amelia has returned to us. We need to keep her safe this time. We won’t lose her again!” Edith said passionately as she leaned in Jack’s arms.

Jack caressed his wife’s back with a soothing hand. “Our family will never be apart again. I’ve been waiting for this moment for too long.”

Stephanie was green with envy at the sight. Dad and Mom must be exaggerating. It’s been a while since they found her. What’s the point of getting all excited over a title? Do they really have to do this? Are they planning to leave everything to Amanda if she calls them that way a few more times?

The thought sent a chill down her spine. Soon, she’ll be replacing me as the beloved daughter of the Allegra Family. I’ll come after her in our parents’ eyes. Things will change soon. Ever since she reappeared, Dad and Mom no longer care about me.

To keep Amanda safe after her failed abduction, Jack demanded she and Aiden stay over in the Allegra Villa. Besides, he and Edith could rest assured.

Elias remained silent.

Elias began with a serious expression, “Stay with our son at night. If you’re afraid, hug him close. Just pretend I’m by your side.”
