Estelle quickly stood up and turned to look at Jonathan, who was also gazing at her. Their eyes met and he let out a soft sigh.
Carson and the others headed towards Jonathan, blocking Estelle’s view. She involuntarily stepped back with Amiee.
An explosion stirred up a huge commotion and the 9th Mansion was in total chaos.
Cicely was restrained by others. She seemed clueless about the magnitude of her mistake, still struggling and screaming.
“Carson! You said you loved me. Kill her! Kill her so no one will pressure you anymore, and we can be together!”
Marina, protected by Jane and others, stared at the manic Cicely in shock. She felt both anger and an unexpected pity. Disgust filled Carson’s eyes. He wished he could go up and give her a good thrashing!
Not long after, the police arrived, understood the situation, and took Cicely away. They also needed Carson to give a statement.
Jonathan, hurt in the explosion, was taken to the hospital by Charlie and others.
As they were leaving, Josiah asked Estelle, Jonathan seems pretty banged up. Wanna come to the hospital with us?”
Estelle paused before shaking her head, “You go. Just let me know if anything happens.”
Josiah nodded, “Alright, you and Amiee head back first then I’ll call if anything comes up”

The crowd dispersed and Marina was the last to leave. She took the opportunity to express her gratitude to Estelle, “Ms. Macclain, I’m really grateful for you and Mr. Lamont I’ll never forget how you saved my life!
“No need for formalities We were all in danger, anyone would have done the same!” Estelle replied with a smile.
“You and Mr. Lamont are really something, such amazing teamwork. We couldn’t even react in time” Marina said, looking at Estelle with admiration. She was a far cry from the calm, quiet girl Estelle had seen at the engagement party. And the fact that she could still smile after that ordeal proved she was no ordinary girl
Too bad she was engaged to Carson. Who knew what the future hold. Hopefully, tragedies like Cicely’s won’t happen again
Estelle, preoccupied, didn’t chat much with Marina. After saying goodbye, she left with Amiee
Amiee was driving. Seeing Estelle’s gloomy face, she asked, “Do you want to go see Jonathan at the hospital?”
Estelle was quiet for a moment before answering, “No need.”
He was standing and talking to Charlie and the others earlier. He should be fine.
“Cicely definitely has some mental issues. No wonder Carson broke up with her Amiee commented
Estelle’s eyes were cold, “Carson drove a girl to this point. He’s partly to blame tool”
Amiee said. “To date someone like Carson, you need a strong mind. You need to be able to control your emotions to compete with men. Cicely didn’t get this when they were dating. She couldn’t let go after they broke up and comered herself!”
Estelle nodded, “You’re right, you can’t trust a man’s sweet nothings in a relationship. If you take it too seriously, you’ll fall too deep
Amiee glanced at Estelle, seemingly thinking about her situation with Jonathan, and fell silent.
When they got to Sunset Ridge, Amiee said, ‘I’ll let you know about Mr. Lamont’s condition when Josiah gets back.”
