Once they were a good distance away, Darcey, the assistant, immediately grumbled, “That Estelle, she’s such a pain! I should have called Mr. Lamont right away to deal with this!” 

Gwen, with her head hung low, murmured, “It’s fine, let’s not bother him over something so trivial.” 

“This can’t just slide. You’re the lead actress of this show, and Mr. Lamont’s girlfriend. Who does she think she is? Mr. Lamont will definitely sort her out!” Darcey fumed 

“Enough, go get me an ice pack. We still have to film, need to get the swelling down fast!” Gwen said. 

While someone else fetched an ice pack, Darcey looked at Gwen pityingly, “You’re too kind for your own good, putting up with such crap. That’s why people take advantage of you” 

Gwen chuckled. “Estelle and I used to be really close. She’s just a little confused right now.” 

“Confused?” Darcey scoffed, “You’re so naive. You have no idea how vicious people can be. Estelle is clearly jealous of your success and your amazing boyfriend. Mr. Lamont. That’s why she’s picking on you!” 

Gwen smiled gently, “Yeah, I am so lucky, a slap from her doesn’t really matter!” 

Darcey rolled her eyes. “You’re so beautiful and kind–hearted. You’ll become more and more famous and she’ll eat her heart out!” 

Elsewhere, Craig, with medicine on his forehead, had a grim expression. After a while, he declared, “Estelle, from today, our friendship with Gwen is officially over 

As Estelle was tending to his arm, she said softly. “Are you sure?” 

She had seen it coming Craig was so upset because he thought Gwen shouldn’t have done that. Even though he disliked Gwen, he was still clinging to some happy memories from the past, which was why he was so upset. 

Now, he was finally awake! 

“Tm sure!” Craig took a deep breath, “This is the last time I’ll ever put up with her!” 

Estelle said “As long as she doesn’t mess with us, we don’t need to bother her. We’re here to work, and doing a good job is the most important thing!” 

Craig’s eyes darkened, and he nodded, “Right!” 

After work, on her way home, Estelle got a call from Charlie, Estelle, 9th Mansion. Carson is treating us tonight to thank his good friends, and he insists you come.” Estelle was in a sour mood because of Craig’s injury. Looking at the traffic ahead, she chuckled, “Tell him I appreciate the invite, but I’m busy and can’t make it 

“Come on, Josiah is bringing Amiee. You and Amiee are close, and you know how she is when you’re not there, she always sits alone, kinda lonely,” Charlie laughed. Estelle paused for a moment before answering. “Alright, I’ll head over now.”

After hanging up, Estelle took the next turn towards the 9th Mansion. 

She had initially planned to avoid everyone related to Jonathan. But on second thought, there was no need. Just like two years ago, when they broke up, she never forced herself to forget him. Because she knew, the more you forced yourself to forget something, the more painful it became. 

Sometimes it was better to just let things be 

Traffic was bad, and it was dark by the time she arrived. 

She walked into the private room, everyone was already there. Carson and his fiancée Marina were seated on the couch, being coaxed to sing a love song. 

As Estelle walked in, everyone stood to greet her. 

Carson joked, “I knew Charlie would get to you. If I had been the one to call you, you wouldn’t have come!” 

Estelle laughed and replied, “Stop making excuses!”
