Chapter 671
The elevator stopped at the ninth floor. Emily, accompanied by Charlie, walked through the extravagant and dimly lit corridor, stopping at a door. She used the key card to open the door
Upon entering, the door barely closed when Charlie pinned Emily against the wall in the hallway, kissing her passionately. The man had lost his sense.
Emily tilted her head to hear her phone ring in her pocket. She pulled it out and answered calmly, “Hello?” Noreen’s anxious voice came through, “Emily, where’s Charlie? Why isn’t he here yet, are you tricking me?” “He’s with me, he’s already taken the drug. Send over the money first, and once it’s in, I’ll bring him to you.” Noreen’s voice turned shrill, “Emily, are you threatening me?”
“Of course! Why should you be the only one who can threaten me? I can take control too!” Emily’s voice was hoarse. She leaned back against the wall, holding her phone and talking to Noreen while Charlie undressed her
“Fine, I’ll transfer the money to you now. Once I’ve transferred the money, I want to see Charlie! Noreen replied with an exasperated yet impatient tone.
“OK,” Emily responded and hung up the phone. Her top slid down. She leaned her head against the wall, closing her eyes
Soon, there was a notification for a bank transfer on her phone. She picked it up and saw that 500,000 had arrived. She switched off her phone and tossed it onto the carpet
Charlie picked her up and headed towards the bed. Emily hugged him tightly, retuming his kisses in an unfamiliar yet unhesitant manner
She had never intended to hand Charlie over to Noreen. Ever since the day she made that promise, she had carefully planned this moment. She had betrayed him, betrayed their friendship She owed him so much, and with no way to repay him, the only thing she could offer was herself that night. On the day she arrived at the 9th Mansion, she had reserved a room at the front desk. She lied to Noreen, just as she had said, wanting to take control for once!
Both of them settled onto the soft quilt together. Charlie held her face, kissing her with such intensity as if he wanted to melt her Lost in his kisses, Emily suddenly felt a wave of panic and nervousness. She tightly grasped his hand, looking at him, her voice trembling, “Charlie, do you know who I am?”
“Emily‘ Emily Charlie murmured her name faintly, his gaze filled with passion and pain, as if he was afraid of hurting her
Emily bit her lip, feeling a sudden sense of relief. Regardless of whether he would remember her tomorrow, she was already content in this moment
When the day began to lighten, Charlie finally fell asleep. Emily rested for half an hour before she had the strength to get up and shower. Standing in the bathroom, Emily tilted her head back to let the water run over her face. She knew that everything would change from today.
Her body was in pain, but her heart was at peace
After finishing her shower, Emily found her phone. As soon as she switched it on, she received numerous unread messages and missed calls.
The missed calls were all from Noreen, along with nearly thirty messages. Noreen’s messages ranged from initial anxiety to later cursing Emily called Noreen back.
In the early hours of the dawn, Noreen picked up quickly and started cursing, “Emily, you slut, how dare you trick me! Where have you taken Charlie?”
