Before Hannah could interject, Carmella stepped forward, tears welling up in her eyes, and spoke with a tone of grievance, “Mr. Gilder, Estelle copied the design I created and entered it into the competition for the movie costume designer, which ultimately cost Alice and me our opportunity. You must ensure justice is served!” 

Jason cast a glance at Estelle and responded with an indifferent tone. “Are you accusing Estelle of plagiarizing your design?” 

Carmella vigorously nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Yes!” 

A subtle smile played on Jason’s lips as he adopted an ambiguous expression. He turned his gaze towards Estelle and calmly remarked, “Is that the case?” 

Estelle’s gaze was complicated, and she didn’t say a word. 

Hannah said, “The surveillance footage shows that Estelle indeed peeked at Carmella’s design draft.” 

Inman immediately said, “Mr. Gilder, here’s the thing. Carmella called Estelle to help her find an address in the drawer. The footage doesn’t show whether there were design drafts in the drawer or not. I think there must be some scheming going on here.” 

“What scheming?” Alice sneered. 

Everyone was waiting for Jason to speak. He was silent for a moment, then frowned at Estelle, “Have you eaten?” 

Everyone was speechless. 

Is this the right time to ask that? 

Estelle shook her head, “I have been dealing with this matter the whole time, so I haven’t had a chance to eat.” 

“Hungry?” Jason turned to his assistant Sandy said, “Get a lunchbox for her.” 

Everyone but Sandy was a bit puzzled. Why does Jason care so much about Estelle? Shouldn’t the priority be to find the plagiarist? 

Jason seemed to see everyone’s astonishment and explained, “Her stomach isn’t good. She needs to eat on time. Don’t worry; we’ll deal with the matter properly!” 

He turned and sat back down in his chair, looking indifferent and casual. He looked at Estelle and said casually, “You sort it out, and cthen eat quickly!” 

With the incident and waiting for Jason, Estelle’s stomach was indeed uncomfortable. 

She took a deep breath, looked at the crowd with different expressions, and said, “First of all, that call was indeed from Carmella. I have the call record on my phone, and if you don’t believe it, you can also check with the telecommunications bureau.” 

Alice glanced at Jason and said coldly, “So what if you prove that the call was from Carmella? It’s a fact that you peeked at her design draft!” 

Inman sneered, “Carmella did call Estelle, but she swore she didn’t. Isn’t that a problem? If she’s not guilty, why lie?” 

Carmella looked flustered, as she suddenly felt the relationship between Jason and Estelle seemed more complicated than what they’d 

seen. 

Why did Jason know Estelle so well and even knew she had stomach issues? 

Although his tone was cold when he told Estelle to handle it herself, he seemed to trust her and was sure she didn’t plagiarize. 

Her instincts told her that Jason and Estelle must be close. 

“Now that we’ve clarified the first point, I’ll prove that I didn’t plagiarize Carmella’s design draft.” Estelle finished talking, went to her desk, turned on her usual design software, and searched for her design. She showed the screen to everyone and said, “This is the 

playback of my drawing process. It started on Thursday morning and was almost done by the end of the afternoon. The surveillance footage shows that I looked through Carmella’s drawer around 2 p.m. on Friday. Time doesn’t go backward; I couldn’t have seen her draft first before going back to Thursday to make the design.” 

Everyone was stunned.
