Charlie looked at her, his voice icy, “Don’t think you’re off the hook!”
Emily blinked, surprised, “What are you talking about?”
Charlie’s tone was harsh, “You and Martin going on a date
“We didn’t go on a date!”
Charlie pursed his lips, giving her a cold stare, 1 don’t care if it was a date or not. You better drop the idea of getting together with him. If I’m not dating anyone, you’re not either”
Emily thought to herself, even if he dated someone, she wouldn’t!
“Did you hear me?” Charlie’s voice was even colder.
Kya looked up, her small eyebrows furrowed, “Stop being mean to my Mom!”
Charlie glanced back, his handsome face softening into a gentle smile, “Okay, if you can get her to behave, I wont be mean.”
Emily was speechless
As Charlie clumsily cooked, he noticed the disdain in her eyes, His face darkened, “Are you mocking me
“No” Emily quickly turned away to continue cooking
Kya tilted her head at Charlie and smiled, “Uncle Charlie, if you don’t know how, you can ask me. I can teach you, and Mom won’t mock you anymore.”
Charlie kept silent.

Kya squeezed out the crescent-shaped peas from the bean pod, being amazed, “What’s this? Can bean pods produce these?”
Charlie knew what it was. He smiled at Kya and explained. “These are the seeds of the beant
“What’s a seed?” Kya was even more curious.
“A seed is the start of a plant’s life. For example, this bean seed, if we plant it in the soil and water it, it will grow many beans? Charlie turned into a mini science whiz
Kya thought this was very magical, her eyes lighting up, “So, if we plant cookies in the soil, will they grow into many cookies?”
I am not rattling excellent with English but I get hold this really leisurely to interpret.
