A smug look briefly crossed Evelyn’s face. Regardless of how skilfully that skank could flirt, Murray remained uninterested. That’s a victory for her, wasn’t
it?
Maja stole a few more glances at Murray. She had previously seen his photo on Zoey’s phone screensaver. She knew he was the one sitting next to Evelyn.
Having accompanied Evelyn here, was Murray still serious about Zoey?
She wanted to take a photo, but her phone rang. It was Zoey.
Originally, Maja had asked Zoey to pick her up tonight. However, lan had just asked her to stay the night. It seemed like she would be riding with him tonight, so she didn’t need Zoey after all.
“Mr. Pennyfeather.”
Zoey’s voice sounded a bit down, “I’m sorry, but I might need to take a leave tonight.”
“What happened?”
Zoey looked pale and was shaking, “I have terrible menstrual cramps. I was on my way, but the pain was too much, so I pulled over.”
“Where are you? I’ll come.”
“Mr. Pennyfeather, it’s okay. I just need to go home and rest.”
Maja immediately agreed. Some women could faint from menstrual pain. She wondered if Zoey was among them.
Zoey was a strong woman. Even if she was, she probably wouldn’t tell her.
Zoey, shivering in her car, gave Murray a call.
The moment Murray saw her call, he went stiff and quickly pushed Evelyn away.
“Evelyn, I need to take this call.”
Evelyn also knew Murray had a girlfriend, so she deliberately held his hand, “You haven’t broken up with her yet? You should make it clear early. Otherwise, what am I to you? My father said, as long as you stay with me, you’ll be taken care of.”
Murray looked a bit embarrassed. After all, Mia was there, and he didn’t want to be seen as a gold digger,
“Evelyn, let go of me.”
“Murray, I won’t. If you can’t bear to tell her, I’ll do it for you.”
She snatched Murray’s phone: Murray felt like his heart was about to jump out.
He quickly grabbed his phone back and walked away without looking back at Evelyn.
Evelyn sat there, punching the couch in frustration.
Meanwhile, Murray had already answered Zoey’s call.
A weak voice came from the other end.
“Murray, I feel terrible.”
Murray judged the time and figured Zoey’s period had probably started.
. “You should go back to bed and drink more water. I’m working overtime tonight, so I’ll be back late.”
Zoey was drenched in sweat, and her vision was getting dark. She felt nauseous but couldn’t vomit.

Zoey carefully put away the documents by her side and wiped her sweat with tissues. She shakily stepped on the accelerator.
However, she had only driven a few meters when a flash of white light passed by.
The tail of her car was hit, and she could no longer control herself, leaning on the steering wheel.
Fitch was smoking in the car behind, one hand on the steering wheel. Seeing the collision, he got a bit impatient.
He got out of the car and knocked on Zoey’s window.
Zoey shakily rolled down the window, only to see a tall man standing in front of the car, saying something she couldn’t hear.
Fitch had something to do tonight, so he was just leaving for the exhibition. Now, seeing he had hit someone, his tone was not very good.
“Hey, can you hear me?”
He knocked on the window again, but the woman in front had already collapsed on the steering wheel.
He opened the car door.
Zoey fell into his arms.
Fitch stiffened and instinctively pushed her away, a look of disgust on his face.
He didn’t have that kind of kindness. He simply left his business card in her hand and left.
Half an hour later, passing pedestrians called an ambulance, and Zoey was sent to the hospital.
On the other hand, Maja was still observing Evelyn and Murray.
The two started flirting without a care in the world. Murray fed her fruit, and she looked at him shyly.
Evelyn felt a bit smug. After all, women like Maja were just for sale. Those sponsors would never treat her well. Murray was so gentle, was she jealous?
“Murray, you’re so nice.”
Murray didn’t say anything. After all, if he could please his boss’s daughter, his own promotion would be faster.
And now he was already a manager. If he could go further and be promoted to director, his future would be limitless.
But at the same time, he felt guilty towards Zoey. They had been together for seven years, and he still had some feelings for her.
