“Ms. Raymond, you okay?”
Maureen’s head was bleeding and her mind was all foggy. The driver in the front had even passed out.
Since they were the ones hit, their situation was worse than Maja’s.
Everything was chaotic at this point, and the police had already arrived.
Rubbing her aching head, Maureen saw Maja and decided to keep the blame game for later.
“Penny, are you okay? Are you hurt?”
Maja instantly felt guilty and helped her out of the car.
“I’m okay, I’m sorry, I’m calling the ambulance now.”
With the help of the police, the driver in the front also got out of the car. Luckily, their injuries weren’t severe, but they still needed to get checked out at the hospital.
As the driver, Maja was immediately detained by the police.
Maureen wanted to help her, but then Maja said, “Ms. Raymond, the ambulance will be here soon. You go to the hospital first, I’ll come to apologize personally later. I have some matters here to attend to.”
Even in this situation, Maja remained calm, her gaze falling on Kim.
All Kim wanted was to scare Maja by directing the car to the side of the road. She didn’t want to risk her life for such a person.
But when she struggled with Maja over the steering wheel, she used all her strength and didn’t realize that she had turned the wheel the wrong way, screaming as they crashed into an oncoming car.
She took one look at the brand of the car they hit a luxury car – and was immediately petrified.
Maja followed the police, specifically instructing them to take Kim as well. She recounted the struggle over the steering wheel and emphasized the dash cam.
The police took one look at Maureen’s car and knew they had hit a rich person’s car, so they didn’t dare to be negligent.
It was all Maja’s fault, so they took both people in the car to the police station.
Maja felt like she had been having some rotten luck recently, going back and forth between the police station and the hospital.
With a petrified Kim on the side, her mood got even worse.
Kim tried to dodge the blame.
“You can’t blame me, Maja, you’re the car owner, so it’s you who should compensate.”
“I have nothing to do with this, I’m just a passenger.”
“The person we hit looks rich. You’re out of luck this time.”
Kim was scared out of her wits. Her reputation had been bad recently. She didn’t dare to go to work and had been staying at
home.
When she thought that Maja might have set her up, she decided to stalk Maja.
She only wanted to scare Maja, but she didn’t expect things to turn out this way.
Maja completely ignored her. At this point, she didn’t want to hear Kim talk or comfort her. After finishing her statement with the police and understanding her part of the responsibility, she planned to leave.
Kim was the main culprit in the accident and had a greater responsibility. Seeing Maja leaving, she got scared and wanted to
follow.
“Maja, you can’t do this, this happened because of you…”
However, the police stopped her to take a separate statement. They also needed to see how Maureen would demand compensation.
Ryan was informed about Maureen’s situation. Ryan came to see Rita today. When he saw the call from his mother, he immediately pushed Rita away and answered the call.
But the person who called wasn’t his mother, it was his mother’s driver.
The driver was already awake, not in a serious condition, but Maureen was diagnosed with a mild concussion and needed to be
hospitalized for observation. Her head wound was also being bandaged.
“Mr. Elston, your girlfriend’s car collided with ours. Ms. Raymond didn’t intend to tell you, but she asked me to let you know and hope you could comfort the other party”
Maureen didn’t ask Ryan to come see her, but wanted Ryan to go see Maja.
Maureen had encountered Maja in the hospital twice, both times Maja was in trouble. She guessed that the young girl might have
a big conflict with her family, and this time, her family might not care too much about her.
Since Ryan was her boyfriend, he should be there to take care of and comfort her at this time.
