Chapter 36 Amanda Kidnapped
Amanda finally left the court two hours later. Just as she expected, she won the infringement case easily.
She already made an appointment with the real estate agent. Since Helean was taking care of Aiden, she didn’t have to worry about anything.
After leaving the court, she drove straight to the first house that the real estate agent had recommended.
A car started tailing her, but she didn’t notice it.
Seeing that Amanda drove into a quiet road, the car accelerated and crashed into her vehicle from behind.
Amanda immediately stepped on the brakes and left the car in a fury. She was ready to reprimand the driver who rear-ended her car.
Little did she know that she was getting closer to danger.
She approached the car behind her and knocked on the window. “Come out! Do you have a driver’s license? How did you even rear-end my car on such a road?”
The car door opened all of a sudden, and she instantly saw Dick seated in the back seat.
Her eyes widened. Realizing that she was in danger, she turned around and ran.
Before she could flee, a tattooed man forcefully pulled her into the vehicle. “Where do you think you’re going? Come in right now!”
After Amanda was dragged into the car, the thug tied her up with ropes.
“Release me! What are you trying to do?” She tried to struggle out of the restraints but to no avail. Then, she glowered at Dick. “How could you partner up with them to kidnap me? You’re a
monster!”
A terrified Dick said, “I have no other choice. I need to pay off my debts…”
“We mean no harm, miss. Since your husband is wealthy, he can afford to pay for his father-in- law’s debts. If he doesn’t pay up, we’ll cut off your half-brother’s limbs. Do you have the heart to see him suffer?”
“Go on and do that! It has nothing to do with me! Even if you cut off Dick’s limbs, I won’t object to it. Let me go now!”
Amanda was exasperated. What have I done to deserve a father like him? He even told these thugs to kidnap me and demand money from Elias.
Since Amanda was uncooperative, the thug took her phone out of her bag and held her face still to unlock the device.
Then, he covered her mouth with duct tape to ensure that she was silent.
“Mmph! Mmph!” Amanda tried to struggle out of the ropes and speak, but her efforts were futile.
The thug scrolled through her contact list but couldn’t find Elias’ number. He questioned, “Where’s your husband’s number? Don’t you call him hubby or something? Are you on bad terms with him?”
When Dick caught sight of Elias’ name, he said, “That’s him! That’s her husband. Call him right now!”
Amanda struggled hard to snatch her phone back. Irritated by the woman, the thug sprayed some liquid at her face, after which she lost consciousness.
Everything that happened on the red carpet of the charity dinner would be broadcast on a live
stream.
The netizens had already heard that Elias and Grace would be walking down the red carpet together, so they had been waiting eagerly.
The female celebrities who attended the charity dinner were all displeased.
Grace was only a D-list actress. Despite having all sorts of resources, she still couldn’t make it in showbiz. What right did she have to have a boyfriend like Elias?
The car slowly arrived at the venue.
Grace was wearing an expensive custom-made dress and delicate makeup so that she could walk down the red carpet with her arm in Elias
She believed she would be the brightest star that night, for she could finally stand beside Elias in public.
When the car door was opened, she was the first to get out of the vehicle. She waved her hand at the reporters and flashed a smile at them.
Just as the man was ready to leave the car, he received a call.
Initially, he didn’t want to pick it up, but when he realized it was Amanda’s call, he couldn’t help.
but connect it.
It was inconceivable that the woman took the initiative to call him.
Much to his surprise, after the call connected, he heard a man saying in a hoarse voice, “We’ve kidnapped your wife. If you want her to be safe, bring 400,000 and come looking for us. This is
the money your father-in-law owes us, so you should pay up for him. You’d better not call the police. Otherwise, you won’t even find her corpse.”
With that, the call ended.
Elias’ expression changed as a hint of shock flashed across his dark gaze.
He called the person back, but the other party didn’t pick it up.
“Damn it!” Elias was infuriated.
It’s her horrible father again!
Elias and Amanda were married for about a year. During that period, she borrowed money from him thrice to pay off her father’s debts..
Now, she’s kidnapped. Why is she so unlucky?
At that moment, Grace was waiting outside the car. Seeing that the man remained in the car, she asked, “What’s wrong; Elias? Hurry up. We’re supposed to walk down the red carpet.”
Elias glanced at her and said, “Go on. I have something to deal with, so I can’t go to the charity dinner with you. Don’t wait for me.”
Then, he looked at the bodyguard in the passenger’s seat and ordered, “Locate Amanda’s phone right now!”
The next moment, the driver drove the car away,
Grace was left there on her own, not knowing what to do.
How could Elias leave me here just like this? What matter does he have to deal with? Moreover, he told the bodyguard to locate Amanda’s phone. The woman must have told Elias to go looking for her!
Grace balled up her fists and clenched her teeth. Her gaze was filled with resentment.
Amanda claims that she doesn’t want to get back together with Elias nor does she want to have anything to do with him. However, she has never stopped contacting him. What a liar! She’s such a b*tch!
Inside the car, Elias repeatedly dialed Amanda’s number, his expression gloomy.
When the call finally connected, the thug mocked him by saying, “Have you gotten the money ready, Mr. Winters? Why did you keep calling me?”
Instantly. Elias flared up and roared over the phone. “If you dare hurt her, I’ll make sure you’ll go
to hell!”
“Well, that depends on how quickly we receive the money. After all, your wife is beautiful, so we
might not be able to contain our desire. We’ll only let her go home when we get the money”
With a serious expression, Elias growled, “I’ll kill you if I find even a scratch on her. I mean it!”
This time, he hung up first.
I have to find out Amanda’s whereabouts as soon as I can.
He looked at the bodyguard and snapped, “Have you found anything?”
“Please be patient, Mr. Winters. I’m still trying to locate Miss Bailey because her phone connection is unstable. I suppose she’s in the suburbs,”
“You’re so useless! Hurry up!”
Then, Elias made a call to the company’s Finance Department. “Get me 400,000 in cash as soon
as you can.”
“What’s wrong, Mr. Winters?”
“Cut the crap. Just do as I say right now!”
“Yes, I’ll get it done right away.”
She sprinted down the stairs but suddenly remembered her pregnancy and slowed down. Clutching the test strip in her hand, she wondered what Elias Winters' reaction would be once he heard the news.
Yet, when Amanda was halfway down the stairs, she saw two figures in the living room—Elias and a sexy woman. Slowing down her steps, she held the handrail tightly and felt her heart sink. That was because she saw her husband and the woman behaving affectionately as though they were a smitten couple.
