Chapter 232 All Signs Point To Amanda
Ally nodded timidly. “I was cleaning the railing of the stairs that day when I saw Old Mr. Winters entering your bedroom. After that, I went to another part of the house. I didn’t see anything, but I heard that he was talking to a woman before they argued, and Old Mr. Winters fell down the stairs. I recall that the woman seemed really young. I have no idea if it was Miss Bailey, but I did hear a woman arguing with him.”
“Mr. Winters, did you hear that? It’s all true!” Boris burst into tears. At the thought of the helplessness Howard felt as he was pushed down the stairs, Boris couldn’t help but cry.
Elias’ expression darkened as he stared at the helper named Ally. “Are you sure you heard Grandpa. arguing with a woman?” he asked. “Do you remember what they were quarreling about?”
Ally began to recall the scene of that day. After she wiped the banister, she then went to clean the vase. Although she had no idea with whom Howard was arguing, she had heard it.
“I seem to have vaguely heard Old Mr. Winters say something about letting Elias know her true colors. Ah, yes, I also heard that he would not let that woman join the Winters Family.”
Elias was even more confused when he heard those keywords because Howard had always taken a liking to Amanda, so how could he say those words to her?
Not to mention, Grandpa had always wanted me and Amanda to remarry. The test tube babies were a last resort since they felt that we wouldn’t remarry, so they wanted to continue the family’s bloodline.
The man then frowned. “Are you sure the woman is Amanda?”
Ally shook her head in confusion. I’m not a hundred percent sure, Mr. Winters. To tell you the truth, I don’t even know Miss Bailey well, so I can’t fully remember her voice. I only know that Old Mr. Winters was with a woman that day. They quarreled before he fell down the stairs. By the time I found him. Miss Bailey was next to me. That’s all.”
The helper shared all of the information that she could think of.
Elias only had one question. Why didn’t she say anything back then? Why did she wait until now? Could it be that she is colluding with Mr. Jones?
“Just answer what I have asked.”
“Okay.”
Elias had an interrogative attitude as he continued, “I have another question. Why didn’t you say something back then? Why are you only coming forward now to testify for this person? Don’t you think that it’s too late since Grandpa has already been cremated?”
For a moment, Ally was at a loss for words as she did not know how to answer him.
Boris, however, reacted strongly and responded, “Mr. Winters, are you suspecting that I asked her to give a fake testimony? Mr. Winters, I did not do that! These are all facts!”
“Mr. Jones, don’t be agitated. I know that you mean no harm. It’s just that I’m curious as to why she didn’t tell you earlier. At least I could have started the investigation carlier.”
Boris wiped his tears away as he felt wronged. As Howard’s most trusted person in his lifetime, Elias was now suspecting him.
Ally quickly explained, “Mr. Winters, I would not dare to spew nonsense because I am afraid. This is matter of life and death, plus I didn’t see who it really was. I can’t just say anything I like. When Old Mr. Winters fell down the stairs, I was traumatized, and I had nightmares for days. I always wanted to forget about this incident, but I can’t. I only said it when Mr. Jones came to investigate us. I’m so sorry…”
Elias fell into silence.
Boris added, “Mr. Winters, I really hope you can investigate Old Mr. Winters’ real cause of death. The woman who quarreled with him holds the key, as she must have pushed him down. I suspect Miss Bailey. but I’m not so sure either. Please look into this.”
Do I need to investigate it? Elias was caught in a dilemma because he did not want to investigate the matter, but he had to because he couldn’t let his grandfather die in vain. Who was Grandpa arguing with before he fell down the stairs? This woman is the key, but all signs point to Amanda.
Amanda happened to be dissatisfied with Howard that day and wanted to argue with him. Before the elderly man fell down the stairs, he was indeed arguing with a woman.
Is there such a coincidence in the world? Even so, Elias believed that Amanda would not do such a thing since she respected Howard a lot.
“Mr. Winters!” When Boris saw Elias’ hesitation, he had to be cruel to be kind.
Elias was slightly irritable at this. “Alright, alright. I know, I will find out the true cause of Grandpa’s death. Not only will I give you an explanation, I’ll do the same for Grandpa so that he can rest in peace.”
“Alright! Thank you, Mr. Winters. Old Mr. Winters’ death isn’t that simple. We need to find the woman who quarreled with him before he fell down the stairs!”
Boris was pleased to receive such a response; at least it proved that Howard was still an important person to Elias.
Elias wanted to work overtime at the company tonight, but he chose to return to the Winters Estate after he met Boris.
He walked alone in the estate in the dark night.
As he recalled the bits and pieces of his grandfather’s life, it seemed that Elias was always scolded by him every time they met. Now that no one scolded him, he was not used to it.
He looked at the lake in front of him and smiled. I don’t know if Grandpa is used to it since he has no grandchildren to scold any more.
Ally’s words rang in his ears again. Grandpa fought with a woman before he fell down the stairs. Who is this
woman?
Although Amanda had a high probability of being the murderer, there was no concrete evidence to nail her as the perpetrator.
Elias wanted to head to the crime scene again, but after walking for a few steps, he found that he was being followed.
He pretended not to notice and continued to walk forward. The rustling footsteps behind him followed
suit.
As Elias approached the next corner, he deliberately stopped and hid in an attempt to catch the person behind him.
Unexpectedly, the footsteps continued to catch up to him, and he suddenly stepped out, only to cause the person to scream in shock. “Ah!”

“My mom’s already in a nursing home, so why are you still here?”

He no longer wanted to be entangled with Grace, even for Kennedy’s sake, so he wanted to set her free.
Grace’s eyes widened. “You’re getting engaged? With whom?”
“Stephanie Allegra.”
Elias said the name without any hesitation. Stephanie was technically a third party, so if Grace had too much free time, she should go to Stephanie and cause trouble.
In short, he did not want Grace to hate Amanda any longer and try any means possible to exact revenge on Amanda.
She sprinted down the stairs but suddenly remembered her pregnancy and slowed down. Clutching the test strip in her hand, she wondered what Elias Winters' reaction would be once he heard the news.
Yet, when Amanda was halfway down the stairs, she saw two figures in the living room—Elias and a sexy woman. Slowing down her steps, she held the handrail tightly and felt her heart sink. That was because she saw her husband and the woman behaving affectionately as though they were a smitten couple.
