Chapter 219 I Would Rather Aiden Does Not Have a Father
Amanda came back to her senses then. “N-Nothing. I’m fine. I want to go home. It’s getting late, and I didn’t return home last night, so Aiden’s probably worried about me…”
While speaking, she grabbed her phone and saw there were countless missed calls from Selina, who was probably anxious after being unable to reach her all night.
Meanwhile, Simon said nothing and just watched her from the side.
Amanda dialed Selina’s number and heard her worried voice. “Amanda, where are you? Why didn’t you answer any of my calls last night? Are you alright?”
“I’m sorry. I’m fine. It’s just that I got drunk last night. I’ll come home later. Has Aiden gone to school?”
“Yes, I sent him to school, and he kept asking why his mommy wasn’t home. I lied, saying you have work today and left early.”
Amanda ràn a hand through her hair upon hearing that. “Alright. I’ll be home soon, so don’t worry.”
After she finished speaking, she hung up and pulled the covers off her. Then, she went to the bathroom to wash up. Since she previously stayed here, she was familiar with the place.
In the meantime, Simon had arrived outside the bathroom, waiting for Amanda to come out.
A while later, when Amanda came out of the bathroom after washing up, she was startled to see Simon standing outside the door. “Why are you standing there? You gave me a fright!”
At that, Simon asked, “Are you going to leave now? I have something to ask you. What happened last night between you and Elias? Why did you get drunk at the bar?”
“It’s nothing. I need to go now. We’ll talk next time.”
She was in no mood to discuss this topic and wanted to hurry home. However, just after Amanda took a step away, Simon blocked her way and seemed like he would not let her leave until he received the answer he wanted.
“Did you and Elias get into a fight? What was it about?”
“Who told you we fought? It’s nothing. I have nothing to do with him, nor would I fight with him.”
At the mention of Elias, Amanda unconsciously recalled what happened at the parking lot last night. She gritted her teeth in anger, wanting to kill that sc mbag. Every word he said back there was an insult to her character.
Simon chuckled and asked, “Are you sure? Last night, you kept scolding Elias and calling him a sc*mbag in your dreams. Does that sound like nothing to you? Also, how did you get acquainted with Stephanie Allegra? Why were you talking about her in your sleep too?”
Amanda frowned. Did I really say that much while drunk? It seems like I must restrain myself from drinking in the future. My tolerance is not good, and I seem to like spouting nonsense after getting drunk.
“No, I don’t know who Stephanie Allegra is, or perhaps the Stephanie I know is different from the one you. know. There are many people with the same names all around the world.”
Once she finished, she wanted to leave again, but Simon continued to block her way.
“What else do you want to say?” Amanda was starting to feel irritated.
“Elias came looking for you last night and asked me to return you. I didn’t open the door, but then he suddenly left. I thought he would drive the car in and force the door open.”
The expression on Amanda’s face stiffened, and she was stunned for a long time.
“Elias? Why did he come here?” How dare that sc*mbag come to ask for me? What right does he have to come here? On what basis?!
At this point, Amanda felt like she could not understand Elias anymore. He was like a schizophrenic. One moment, he was cold and indifferent, and the other moment he was affectionate. It was simply confusing.
“He came to get you. It’s not like you don’t know he wants to get back with you. How could he rest assured when you’re in my home? But he suddenly left last night, which was quite surprising.” Simon explained.
Amanda suddenly lost it and bellowed, “What’s there for him to worry about? He’s about to get engaged and is going to get married at the end of the year. What right does he have to care which man I am with? Who does he think he is? Does he think he can woo every woman on the planet? That b*stard!”
Since she had nowhere to vent her anger, she took it all out on Simon.
But she immediately regretted it because this had nothing to do with Simon, so why was she taking out her anger on him?
“I’m sorry. I got a little carried away. I’ll be leaving now. Let’s talk again next time.”
Just as she grabbed her bag and was about to leave, Simon grabbed her wrist and asked, “You said Elias is getting engaged to another woman. Who is he going to marry? Is it the Stephanie you mentioned in your sleep?”
Amanda knew the man was smart, but she did not expect him to react so quickly, rendering her speechless.
On the other hand, Simon thought he had guessed wrong. After combining all the hints together, he was confused. Is Elias going to marry Stephanie Allegra?
His eyes were filled with shock, and he was bewildered for a long while. What is Elias up to? Why is he marrying Stephanie? Isn’t he trying to get back with Amanda? Then there’s also Aiden….. What’s going on?
“How can Elias do that? Is he going to abandon Aiden too? I’ll reason with him!”
Feeling suffocated, Simon turned around, wanting to find Elias and reason with him.
This time, it was Amanda who stopped him. “Don’t go. Why are you going to look for him? He can marry whoever he wants, and it has nothing to do with me. I don’t care.”
“Stop lying. Do you really don’t care? Would you get drunk if you didn’t care? You never liked drinking liquor!” Simon exposed her there and then.
Amanda had no comeback, and she turned her head. “I was wrong. I shouldn’t have believed him. He hurt me so much four years ago, but I still haven’t learned my lesson four years later. I deserve this.”
“I don’t understand what’s going on in Elias’ brain. Was everything he said all lies? How can a man be so irresponsible and spout lies?”
Even Simon could not help but curse. Being a lawyer, he rarely cursed as he was usually a gentleman.
That made Amanda laugh, but her laugh seemed somewhat pitiful “You can’t judge a book by its cover. and it’s hard to change someone’s behavior. Perhaps Stephanie sparked something in his heart. Also, don’t men generally like younger women? I’ve seen Stephanie before, and she is indeed beautiful. A pretty noble lady and a wealthy young master. They’re a match made in heaven, much more suited for each other than me.”
“What about Aiden? Does Elias not want his son anymore?-
Aiden Amanda sighed. “He can still have a child with Stephanie after they get married. By then, would he remember the child he had with his ex-wife? Moreover, I will never let Aiden return to the Winters Family. I would rather my child have no father than let him have a stepmother!”
She swore that she would never give Aiden to the Winters Family,
“Amanda… Are you sure? Is he really going to marry Miss Allegra?”
Based on the Winterses’ abilities, they did not need to marry to establish connections, so Simon could not figure out what Elias was doing.
She sprinted down the stairs but suddenly remembered her pregnancy and slowed down. Clutching the test strip in her hand, she wondered what Elias Winters' reaction would be once he heard the news.
Yet, when Amanda was halfway down the stairs, she saw two figures in the living room—Elias and a sexy woman. Slowing down her steps, she held the handrail tightly and felt her heart sink. That was because she saw her husband and the woman behaving affectionately as though they were a smitten couple.
