Chapter 215 I Won’t Cry for an *ss Like You!
Amanda thought that she had misheard what was said and looked at the man standing there, disbelief written all over her face.
However, Elias was stoic, as if this matter was unrelated to him.
She stared at him for the longest time possible without detecting any change of expression in him.
So… Is his silence his way of admitting to it?
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward since no one dared to speak.
Amanda was still recovering from the shock, while Elias was full of anger with nowhere to vent his frustrations, which left him with no choice but to endure it.
As for Jack, he had planned for this encounter tonight. He knew that Elias still wanted his ex-wife, which was why Elias refused to inform Amanda about the upcoming engagement. As such, Jack wanted to let tonight’s event shatter Elias’ dreams of reconciling with her.
At the sight of such an embarrassing atmosphere, Phineas couldn’t help but ask, “What’s the matter with everyone? Why are you all quiet? Miss Bailey?”
Amanda only came back to her senses when she heard her name being called. “Huh? Did you call me?”
“I sure did. How do I say it? You should be familiar with prenups, right?”
She averted her gaze from the man’s face and forced a smile. “Yes, I’m quite familiar with it. If you need it. Mr. Allegra, I can help you draft a prenup.”
At that moment, she felt a myriad of emotions wash over her. Elias is getting engaged to the daughter of the Allegra Group, huh? Heck, I didn’t even know about it and even stupidly went for dinner with him yesterday! Can I be any stupider than this? No wonder Stephanie came to look for me yesterday to ask about the divorce. It’s because she wants to know Elias in a better light.
At this thought, Amanda wanted to slap herself. How can I have been so stupid? No wonder they wanted me and Aiden abroad. It looks like we’re in the way of their marriage. Ah, how pathetic….
Amanda looked at the man standing before her. It felt like they were so close yet worlds apart.
At her words, Jack raised an eyebrow. “Really? That’s great. We can discuss the details when we are free. The engagement ceremony is next month, with the marriage being scheduled for the end of the year. We don’t have much time.”

Amanda felt like blood was dripping from her chest. She didn’t even know why it hurt so badly. It was as though her heart was being torn apart.

Amanda felt that she couldn’t stay for even a second longer and tried to hold back her tears.
“Mr. Worcester and Mr. Allegra, I have something urgent to attend to. Why don’t we discuss it further next time? If you need a prenuptial agreement to be drafted, feel free to contact me then.”
Phineas had no idea what was happening and tried to stop Amanda from leaving. “Miss Bailey, you’re already leaving even when you just arrived? Please stay a bit longer. I have other friends to introduce to you. You guys might even have a collaboration in the future. They are quite generous.”
He had always wanted to introduce his contacts to Amanda so that she could make more money for
herself.
“I really have something on. We’ll chat another day.”
Amanda felt that she could no longer control her tears, so she quickly fled the scene.
“Miss Bailey? Miss Bailey!” No matter how Phineas screamed, Amanda never once looked back.
As Elias watched Amanda leave, he grabbed his wine glass for dear life while the displeasure was expressed on his handsome face.
Jack, who was standing next to him, had a satisfied smile.

This old fox had definitely done it on purpose to give him hell so that all the obstacles blocking his daughter’s marriage would be removed.
Jack swirled his glass and slowly denied, “I don’t understand what you mean. What’s the matter? You know Miss Bailey? I saw that she was staring at you and looked as if she was about to burst into tears. You didn’t even say hi! Tsk!”
Elias had no answer to that, and without saying a word, he set aside his wine glass and rushed out of the banquet hall.
Jack watched Elias’ angry retreating figure and whispered, “Go on. This is life. Some quarrels are meant to happen. You can only start over once you have quarreled.”
He looked at his wine glass and chuckled.
Since Elias wanted to be the son-in-law, he obviously had to perfect his personal life. Jack would not be as stupid as to allow his precious daughter’s happiness to be threatened by Elias.
Amanda arrived at the parking space and walked toward her car.
Her tears still streamed down her face uncontrollably as she swiped at them and quickened her pace.
“Ouch!” She sprained her foot, and she almost fell flat on her face.
She looked down and noticed that the heel of her shoe was broken, so she removed it and held it.
All she wanted to do now was get out of this place quickly.
I must be out of my mind! Why the f*ck did I agree to come? I’m just setting myself up for shame. Even though only Elias knows that I’m his ex-wife, I still feel ashamed.
Suddenly, there was the sound of a man’s footsteps behind her, and she heard Elias’ voice. “Amanda.” As soon as she heard the voice, she froze a second before she jogged toward her car.
Although the ground was cold, she didn’t feel the chill. In fact, what she felt was nothing but heartache.
When Elias saw that Amanda did not look back, he quickly reached out to her and grabbed her slender wrist to pull her back.
“What are you doing? Let go! You should accompany your father-in-law. Why did you come after me?”
Amanda did not even want to look at the man as she felt disgusted when he appeared in her sight.
She already noticed that there was something strange in Elias’ behavior for the past few days. At first, she

She sprinted down the stairs but suddenly remembered her pregnancy and slowed down. Clutching the test strip in her hand, she wondered what Elias Winters' reaction would be once he heard the news.
Yet, when Amanda was halfway down the stairs, she saw two figures in the living room—Elias and a sexy woman. Slowing down her steps, she held the handrail tightly and felt her heart sink. That was because she saw her husband and the woman behaving affectionately as though they were a smitten couple.
