He entered the operating room and saw his grandfather’s body lying on the bed and covered in a white

sheet.

His voice was hoarse and deep as he called out, but his grandfather, who was beneath the white sheet, would never respond to him again.

Elias slowly approached the bedside. Even though it was just a few steps away, it felt so distant.

He lifted the white sheet and saw his grandfather’s bloodless face. The wound on his forehead had already congealed and his body was stiffening.
