The gentle and elegant man in the wheelchair turned his head slowly, and when he saw it was Harper, a gentle smile appeared on his handsome face.
“Harper…”
Hearing that familiar voice, Harper was sure that the person in front of her was Silas, the person whom she had regarded as her own brother since pup period.
The tears in her eyes couldn’t be stopped, and they fell down intermittently, but with her chin held high, she walked up to Silas, crying and cursing.
“You b*stard, you are still alive, yet you didn’t even ask someone to tell me that! Because of you, I went to church every day to beg God to return my family to me. Do you know that my knees are swollen from kneeling, my eyes are swollen from crying, and I almost went blind…”
Harper’s words made Taya go red. Harper had done so much for them; even if Taya spent the rest of her life with Harper, it would not be enough to repay her.
Silas’s pure and clear eyes couldn’t help turning red as he
looked at his sister who had taken good care of him since he
was a pup…

“Harper, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault…”
Harper shook her head and said, “I don’t blame you, I know you had no other choice.”
Taya told her that the Sterling pack wanted to get rid of Silas,
so how could he reveal the news that he was still alive to
others?
After Harper finished speaking, she looked at Silas’s legs, and tears began to well up again.
Since he was a child, he was successful and looked up to.
She thought that when he grew up, he would rely on his knowledge to stand at the top of the world.
Who would have thought that such a proud man would have
to sit in a wheelchair forever?
Harper was filled with empathy and distress, “It would be nice if you had listened to me that day…”
That day, she told him not to do stupid things, but he didn’t listen to her and insisted on dying for love.
Silas had been so stubborn since he was a pup, and no one could ever persuade him to change his mind.
Well, his legs were gone right then. How was he going to
continue living the rest of his life?
Silas didn’t care about such things. He raised the corners of his lips and smiled.
Harper had nothing else to say to him, so she didn’t bother to talk to him anymore. She wiped away her tears and looked back at Taya.
“Taya, God heard my prayers and returned them to me. I have to go to church to thank Him…”
Taya took her arm and said softly, “I’ll accompany you.”
Silas parted his thin lips, but before he could say anything, Harper yelled, “You should just stay here obediently. Who told you not to listen to me?” Nora couldn’t help laughing when she heard those words. “Mr. Johnson, I thought no one could control you. It turns out that these two beautiful young ladies
are your nemesis…”
Silas frowned when he heard those words, “I am lucky to be
under their control.”
Nora knew more or less about the relationship between the
three of them from Zoey, and she nodded in approval.
For friendships that had lasted for many years, from
childhood to adulthood, it was indeed inappropriate to use
the word nemesis.
Harper glanced at Nora. She had a sweet-looking appearance which reminded her of the young Taya so she
couldn’t help but look at Nora a few more times.
“This is…”
Before Silas could speak, Nora replied softly, “I’m Nora, and I
am the nurse taking care of Mr. Johnson.”
Harper nodded and smiled at Nora. “Hi, I’m Silas’s older sister. You can call me Ms. Duke.”
Nora was very docile, and she called out ‘Ms. Duke, making Harper feel the similarities between her and Taya even more.
That her temperament was very much like the former Taya. However, she didn’t think much about it and turned her
attention back to Silas…
