After Agnes took off, her legs were still shaking like she just had a tough fight.
All these years, only when facing Jared, did Agnes feel so weak and scared.
But still, she managed to stand her ground in front of him.
Jared had changed, he was no longer the Jared with a cold exterior but a warm heart.
Now, he was as hard and cold inside as he was outside.
Agnes didn’t know how to face him anymore.
Actually, she didn’t need to show up at all.
She was totally capable of finding her grandma herself.
But, she came anyway.
Agnes didn’t dare to dig deep into her own heart, afraid to admit the truth she saw.
Afraid that she simply wanted to see him.
However, seeing Jared again, only made her more desperate.
Jared was always hung up on the kid issue, so she could never let Jared know about Nocturne.
Now, all she could do was to finish things up as soon as possible, and disappear from his sight.
Only then, could Agnes feel at ease.
After Agnes left, she immediately called Nate in Manhattan.
Nate said, “This is no biggie, give me half an hour.”
Sure enough, half an hour later, Nate found where Agnes‘ grandma was.
Agnes didn’t expect things to go so smoothly.
If Jared was really trying to hide her grandma, there’s no way that Nate could have found her this easily.
Turns out, her grandma was staying at a high–end nursing home. Although all the identity info here was confidential, it was a piece of cake for Nate to break through these barriers.
In the afternoon, Agnes arrived at Comfort Oasis Retirement Home.
This was a luxury nursing home with one–on–one service. Although the fees were high, ordinary people couldn’t even find the entrance. It was said that even people, of the mayor’s caliber had to wait in line for years to get in.
When Agnes entered, her grandma was watering plants in the yard.
She actually had a small garden here.
The old lady was thrilled to see Agnes, “Agnes, you finally came to see me
Agnes couldn’t help but be teary–eyed.
It had been four years since she met her grandma.
Agnes went over and hugged her grandma, “Grandma, how did you end up here? I almost couldn’t find you.”
Agnes‘ grandma replied, “Jared brought me here, how come you didn’t know? You’ve not been this city all these years, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. Luckily, Jared often comes to see me and chat with me.”
Her grandma looked at Agnes and said, “Jared is much more useful than you,”
Over the past four years, Agnes indeed had little contact with her grandma.
However, Albert would bring her news of her grandma regularly.
Agnes would occasionally call her grandma, but never mentioned her divorce with Jared.
Agnes was surprised, “In these years, Jared often came to see you?”
“Yes, he comes to see me once a month. He said you are busy with your career abroad and don’t have time to come back. But he’s very good. He often comes to
chat with me.”
Agnes couldn’t describe her feelings.
Agnes hugged the old lady tightly and said, “Grandma, I’m sorry. I won’t leave you again. I’m here this time to take you to live with me.”
The old Tady seemed a bit unhappy, she said, “Did Jared tell you about my shaky hands? Actually, it’s not a big deal, I understand my own health. Jared is just too worried, insisted on bringing me to the big city. Although the environment here is nice, I’m not used to it. You should talk to Jared, I want to go back to my home.”
