Agnes could sense something was off, but she was still in the dark. 

Feeling uneasy, Agnes grabbed her phone, with a news alert popping up on the screen. 

The headline read, “BREAKING NEWS! The big secret of the Whitfield family – the eldest Whitfield son is actually Alyssa’s biological son.” 

Agnes began to tremble as she read the title. 

The article revealed things in great detail, telling a story from over twenty years ago. Back then, Alyssa was the Whitfield family’s darling daughter who fell head over heels for a bad boy, got pregnant as a minor, and gave birth to a love child who is now the big shot of the Whitfield family, Jared. 

The scoop was as detailed as a dramatic romance novel. 

But the birth certificate of Jared from overseas and the records of Alyssa giving birth were dug up, providing irrefutable evidence. 

Agnes read every word and every sentence. 

To her shock, the article clearly stated that the one who broke the story was none other than the Whitfield family’s young lady, which pointed right at her! Agnes‘ heart sank. She knew this was probably a scoop released by Laura and her daughter, who then pinned the blame on her. 

Why else would such news break out late at night right after Laura revealed the secret to her the night before? 

No wonder Jared had earlier sarcastically said that she finally–got–what–she wanted!
