Chapter 20
Cole promised to give Emma five minutes, but he didn’t keep his word.
Emma was angry. She grabbed his arm. “I’ve kept my word. I’ve said nothing to anyone about what happened between us. Why can’t you let the experts help my dad? I will pay for it. I have money!” Why was he always such a jerk?
Just three minutes ago, she was moved by him when he said he invited an expert team to treat his father. She’d started to think maybe he wasn’t a scumbag.
Now it seemed she was naive.
Cole stopped as he was grabbed by Emma. He turned around and stared at her with sharp eyes. His gaze finally fell on her neck.
“You have money?” Cole said with a sneer. “Are you going to sleep with Chase? How much will he give you for one night?”
Cole had been arranging for someone to secretly monitor Emma and her phone for over two months, so he was sure that she and Chase hadn’t had sex yet.
But the conversations of the nurses in the hospital and the necklace on Emma’s neck were enough to show that she and Chase were in a relationship.
“You…
“”
She snorted angrily. “Why do you care? You don’t want anything to do with me and you’ve put me through hell. I’ve done everything you’ve asked.”
She raised her neck and picked up the beautiful necklace on her collarbone. “This is the necklace Chase gave me. He and I are in a relationship. So, please stay away from me. Otherwise, my boyfriend will not spare you.”
Cole was enraged. He’d make her suffer, and the expert team would not treat her father again.
A coldness appeared in Cole’s eyes. He lifted Emma’s chin and rubbed her skin with the pad of his thumb on her skin. “I suggest you stay away from Chase. Otherwise, don’t blame me for my actions.”
“I guess you’re used to controlling everything in Kenison City. Do you think you can do everything you want since you have money and power? Why should I listen to you? I will not stay away from him.”

Emma was not a girl who was willing to admit defeat. She was tough.
“I dare you!” Cole leaned over and his warm breath made Emma a little uncomfortable. It seemed that they were very intimate.
“If I find out you saw him again, you will be sorry.”
“You’re crazy.” Emma felt Cole was a maniac. “I will take my parents to another hospital.”
She had had enough of his threats and hated him very much. “I’ll transfer my father to another hospital now.
“Do you think you can escape from me?”
Emma frowned. “Humph. You can’t control me. I can do whatever I want.”
Emma’s behavior was completely out of Cole’s control.
This situation made Cole unhappy.
He stepped forward and growled. “You are pregnant with my pup. Do you think you can do whatever you want?”
Although it was hidden from Emma, it had been a month since the test on her. She had been working for a month and didn’t have a miscarriage. The pup would be strong like her. He’d decided she should give him an heir.
After the child was born, he would give her a sum of money to leave so as not to pester him.
Cole made up his mind and planned to tell Emma the truth in the next two days, but he met her and Chase in the hospital.
He would never allow Emma, who was carrying his child, to hook up with Chase.
“What child? You have mental problems and should see a psychiatrist.” Emma snorted angrily. “I will never carry your child.”
He said, “Oh, really?”
Cole smiled and added, “Did you feel nothing after the abortion? Did you not have your period?” he reminded Emma.
“I…”
Emma was at a loss for words. She looked at Cole in confusion and kept thinking about his questions.
She really didn’t feel anything.
Emma heard that abortions were painful, but she hadn’t felt pain.
Moreover, she didn’t have a period this month.
A few days ago, Emma thought her menstrual period might be irregular after having an abortion. But according to Cole’s
words…
She didn’t have an abortion that day?!

“Impossible. I took the pill after the last time we—you know.”
“Is the pill white and oval with a sour taste?”
“How… How did you know?”
“Because I’ve arranged everything.” Cole wasn’t hiding anything. There was a slight smile on his face as if he was mocking Emma’s innocence.
Emma was stunned and shook her head. “No, that’s impossible.
I’m not… not carrying your child.”
“We’re in the hospital. You can check if you are pregnant.”
“I don’t believe you. This is Steele Hospital, and it’s run by your pack. You won’t let them tell me the truth.”
“It’s not difficult to check. Go to the clinic to buy a pregnancy test stick, and you’ll know the result.”
“Impossible. You’re a liar,” Emma muttered. She said she didn’t believe it, but her mind was in chaos.
She bypassed Cole and walked outside.
On the way home, Emma saw a pharmacy and was about to buy a test, but she wondered if it was under Cole’s control.
Emma turned around and went to a road rarely visited, where she bought a few pregnancy test sticks at two pharmacies.
She started to test when she got home.
Ten minutes later, a scream erupted from the toilet. “Cole, you jackass…”
Emma looked at the six test sticks in front of her. All of them
had two bars, which meant she was pregnant.
She was angry and kept cursing Cole.
But she still didn’t believe it. She went to a clinic and asked a traditional doctor to check it for her, but the result was still
pregnant.
She stepped out of the clinic and walked on the street in a daze. Then she sat on a bench, staring at nothing with empty eyes as if she had been frozen.
After sitting for a while, a car stopped in front of her. The door opened, and Cole walked toward her.
