Mr. Kress roared in anger, “We’re filming this scene today. Anyone who doesn’t want to, can scram!”
Craig was boiling mad, about to drag Estelle away when a cold voice echoed from behind, “What’s going on?”
At the sound of the man’s voice, Estelle stiffened.
Gwen looked up, a sweet smile blooming on her face, “Jonathan!”
Mr. Kress turned around, and almost instantly, he gave a friendly laugh, “Mr. Lamont, what brings you here?”
Probably due to the presence of the crew, Gwen didn’t dare approach Jonathan. She just asked with concern, “How’s your wound?”
“It’s nothing!” Jonathan responded with a light laugh. He looked at Estelle and the dress her assistant was holding, “What happened?”
Mr. Kress quickly exaggerated the situation and put all the blame on Estelle, accusing her of not taking care of the dress as the costume designer and even implying that she was a thief.
As soon as he finished, Gwen immediately defended, “Estelle definitely didn’t do it on purpose. Let’s just drop it. I can wear the new dress and I think it’s even prettier!”
A scoff escaped Craig’s lips, his face full of mockery. He had to admit that Gwen was right, his understanding of human nature was indeed too shallow.
Jonathan’s gaze fell on the hand Estelle had on Craig’s arm, and he said casually, “Is such a small thing worth arguing about, Mr. Kress? Is this how you manage your set?”
Mr. Kress was nervous, “What would you suggest, Mr. Lamont?”
Jonathan responded with a cool tone, “Simple. Someone intentionally damaged the dress, delaying the filming. Let’s find out who it is and let that person face the consequences!”
He finished and looked at Craig, “Check the surveillance.”
Estelle let go of Craig, “There’s no surveillance.”
Everyone was stunned. Estelle had just said there was surveillance, now there wasn’t?
“But I can find out who damaged the dress.” Estelle looked at the crowd, “Wait a moment.”
People were puzzled. If there wasn’t any surveillance, how would she find the culprit?
Mr. Kress had a chair brought for Jonathan under Gwen’s parasol, personally got him a
bottle of water and said, “Mr. Lamont, we didn’t expect such a thing to happen on our set during your visit. We’re really sorry.”
Gwen opened the water and placed it in front of Jonathan, whispering, “It really wasn’t me. You told me not to provoke Estelle, and I haven’t approached her these days.”
Jonathan lifted the water bottle and took a sip, “She said she could find out who damaged the dress. We’ll see.”
“Alright!” Gwen didn’t seem nervous at all. She was chatting with Jonathan; it indeed looked like she was not involved.
A few minutes later, Estelle brought a laptop and placed it on the table, “I did set up surveillance, and the footage is in this laptop. Someone guilty tried to sneak into my room to delete the records, let’s see who touched my laptop.”
Everyone looked at each other, astonished. With all the commotion, many actors and crew members had gathered around to watch. They hadn’t noticed that someone had left in the middle.
Estelle’s laptop camera would automatically turn on when someone touched the laptop. Estelle pulled up the footage, skipping to half an hour ago.
Craig, Steven, Clarice and others leaned in to watch the video on the laptop screen.
