Jonathan tossed his pool cue on the table, his expression cold as ice, took out his phone and made a call, “Tell all the companies under Cloud Top Corporation and Pure City CO. to sever ties with the Scott Group. If they refuse, put them on the blacklist of the Lamont Group!” 

Jonathan made several calls in a row. 

Charlie, listening to the side, snickered, “What are you up to? Finally found a way to vent?”

Two days later 

In a private mansion in the suburbs, Manley held a bowl of newly cooked medicinal soup from the kitchen to give to Estelle. 

Estelle, although blind, had become more sensitive to sound, so she heard Manley as soon as he approached the door and immediately pretended to be asleep. 

Manley put the soup bowl down and glanced at the girl on the bed, couldn’t help but chuckle, “Quit pretending, hurry up and drink this soup.” 

Estelle didn’t move, her eyes closed. 

Manley sat by the bed, bending over to look at the girl, his eyes full of tenderness, “Come on, drink up, it’s good for your recovery!” 

Estelle still refused to wake up. 

“If you don’t wake up, I’ll have to tickle you!” Manley said, reaching to dig into the blanket. 

Estelle immediately opened her eyes, looking helplessly at Manley, “If I’ve done something wrong, let god punish me. Please stop making me drink these medicinal soups and torturing me, okay?” 

Who knew where he found those nutritionists, the medicinal soups they made tasted awful and hard to swallow. After drinking it once, she felt her life was fading away! 

Manley looked at her unfocused eyes, his heart ached. But he still managed to smile, trying to coax her, “Come on, drink it one more time, I promise it tastes better than before!” 

“I won’t!” Estelle was firm. 

Manley had never seen this side of Estelle, a little stubborn and a little playful. Perhaps it was because she lost her sight, she was no longer as aloof as before, which he found very endearing.

“You name it!” Manley said with a laugh. 

“Let me sit in the garden for a while.” Estelle said immediately. 

She had been pestering Manley to take her to sit in the garden, but Magdalen happened to see and scolded Manley, saying Estelle’s wounds couldn’t be exposed to the wind. 

Since that day, Manley wouldn’t let her go out. 

It was nearing the end of spring, the wind blowing in from the window had a fresh scent, she really wanted to go out. 

“Alright, the weather is nice today, I’ll take you out!” Manley agreed immediately. 

Estelle also readily reached out her hand, “Pass me the bowl!” 

Perhaps because she was looking forward to the ice cream and the chance to get some fresh air, the medicinal soup didn’t taste as bad.
