Chapter 808
That day. Estelle got a call from Bennett.
Bennett’s voice was as gentle as ever, but if you listen carefully, there was a certain distance. “Estelle, there’s a family gathering at the old house today, you should come. You were not around during the New Year, your grandparents are missing you
Estelle wondered, was the Macclain family missing me or complaining about me?
She gently declined. “I think we’ve made it pretty clear I’m not coming back to the Macclain family. Please pass the message on to the family.”
Bennett said, “Estelle, no matter what, family ties can’t be cut off. Your mom might have misunderstood you a bit, don’t take it to heart!”
“That day, what your mom said was indeed too much, and she regretted it when she came back.”
“You never come home, and you don’t visit your grandparents, they are not happy!”
Bennett kept trying to persuade Estelle to go back for a visit, but Estelle, despite her gentle appearance, was not as easy to convince as he had imagined. No matter what he said, Estelle was adamant about not going back.
Finally, Bennett had to give up. After hanging up the phone, he suddenly had a feeling that they were going to lose their daughter, Estelle
Or maybe, Estelle had never really come back!
Soon it was the Easter.
In the morning, Jonathan lingered in bed with Estelle for a while, kissing her lips and saying, “Come home with me for the festival today”
Estelle, her eyes hazy, gasped, “What?”
“Don’t worry, it’s my mom’s ideal” Jonathan kissed her passionately. Til bring you along on my way back.”
Estelle rolled out of his arms, wrapped herself tightly in the thin quilt, lying on the bed, looking at Jonathan with a languid look, Tm not going, you go back by yourself, and tell Mrs. Lamont thanks for me”
Jonathan leaned in, revealing his broad shoulders and firm chest, raised his hand to stroke her face, and asked, “Why not? It’s just a day, you can’t go back to C City anyway.”
Estelle rubbed her face against his palm, “I want to go out and wander around.”
“Shopping? I go with you.” Jonathan said with a faint smile.
“No need, you go home. Today is supposed to be a day for family reunions. Estelle turned her head, her big eyes clear.
“Being with you is a family reunion.” Jonathan reached under her thin quilt, propped himself up with one hand, and leaned down to kiss
her.
Estelle responded to his kiss obediently, and after a while of sweet talk, she managed to get him to agree to let her go out for a walk Jonathan felt that she was constantly being trapped by him every day and realized that she needed some personal time for herself. Plus she was so obedient and eager to please him, it was difficult for him to refuse her requests.
Jonathan had work to do in the morning.
He kissed Estelle, telling her to report her whereabouts to him at all times.
After making sure she understood, Jonathan left.
After Jonathan left, Estelle put on a black coat and went out.
She first went to Amiee’s dessert shop
Today was a holiday, but the shop was still packed. Amiee personally served her a few desserts when she saw Estelle, and asked with a smile, “Did you come alone?”
Estelle nodded, “He’s busy. What about you? Just started dating, why not go out?”
Both of them shared an unspoken understanding and knew exactly what the other meant.
Amiee shrugged and said, “We have plans to play games in the afternoon.”
“Not bad.” Estelle smiled
Amiee then asked, “How’s Emily doing over there??
