Malloy snorted, “Why didn’t you call me?”
Hattie sounded wronged, “How could I? I know your family is working with the Lamont Group, and I didn’t want to ruin your partnership over me.”
Malloy suddenly sobered up. Hattie didn’t say it explicitly, but he knew, even his dad wouldn’t dare offend Jonathan.
He softened his tone and tentatively asked, “Did you really just massage his head last night?”
Hattie immediately said, “Amy was worried about me and stayed with me the whole time. We went back to our room afterward, and nothing happened.”
Malloy was relieved and apologized, “I’m sorry. I misunderstood you!”

Hattie quickly said, “No need. I don’t take things from others easily. If I want something, I’ll work hard and buy it myself!”

Hattie modestly said, “No, I just want to achieve my dreams, that’s all.”
