Estelle walked down and said softly, ‘They’re helping Mrs. Macy find a pair of earrings. These earrings mean a lot to Mrs. Macy. If they find them, they’ll gain Schilder’s trust and gratitude, which could help Baldrick sign the deal” 

From Millard’s words, Estelle felt her guess was correct. Baldrick indeed wanted to shake off Jonathan and collaborate with Schilder alone. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have secretly sent people to find the earings without telling Jonathan 

Their partnership was doomed to fail once one party has a hidden agenda‘ 

What he didn’t know was that yesterday afternoon, after Winnie had left, Mrs. Macy also talked to her about the earrings.

“I promise you there’s no danger. I can get the earrings back by myself, really” Estelle looked up at Jonathan with a serious expression.
