Chapter 1113
After the match ended, it was already noon, and Carson organized a gathering for a meal.
In the dining hall, Charlie, Andrew, and others were all present, along with Carson’s teammates who had won the game together. Some of these teammates were spontaneously picked from the spectators, and three or four were Carson’s old
friends.
Everyone quickly got acquainted and the atmosphere was chill and lively.
When Jonathan stepped out for a phone call, Charlie leaned in to Estelle, whispering, “Is Kya okay? Was she scared from the other day?”
Estelle chuckled, “Nah, Kya’s got guts.”
Charlie nodded, “Yeah, she’s a brave little girl.”
Just like her mom.
He paused and then asked, “When are they leaving?”
Estelle responded, “The original plan was to leave after Emily brother’s wedding, but now she’s decided to leave once her mom gets out of the hospital.”
A mix of emotions flashed in Charlie’s eyes, “Because of me?”
Estelle glanced at him and slowly replied, “Nah, Emily’s been held up too long because of her mom’s illness, and the school has already started pressuring her.”
Charlie’s gaze turned icy. If it wasn’t because of him, he’d be even more pissed.
He asked with a poker face, “Is she graduating this year?”
“Yes.”
“What are her plans? Coming back after graduation or staying in Oakdale City?”
“She plans to stay in Oakdale City for now.”
Charlie hung his head, closed his eyes for a moment, and then asked, “What kind of man is Kya’s father? Why did he abandon her and her mother?”
Estelle frowned, hesitating for a moment, “Well, it’s kinda complicated, I’m not too sure either.”
Charlie sneered, “She’s really something, getting fooled by such an irresponsible man.”
Estelle watched Charlie, her eyes complex, but she didn’t respond.
Charlie, apparently pissed, got up and headed outside for a smoke.
Seeing Charlie leaving, Josiah immediately slid next to Estelle, eagerly asking, “What did he say to you?”
“Adult matters are none of your business.” Estelle glanced at him.
Josiah almost spat out his tea; covering his mouth with a napkin, he glared at Estelle, “Have you ever seen a kid as tall as me?”
“Being a kid isn’t about height!” Estelle said.
“Then what is it about?”
Estelle smirked, “It’s about intelligence.”
Josiah took a deep breath, deciding not to argue with Estelle, he laughed and said, “Did Charlie pour out his heart to you?”
“Pour out what?” Estelle asked curiously.
“His mom has been pushing him to find a girlfriend and get married, she introduced several girls to him, but he rejected them all. She said if he doesn’t find a girlfriend, she’ll cut him off.”
Estelle sighed, “Poor guy.”
“He’s living a good life, what’s there to pity!” Josiah leaned in closer to Estelle, flashing a flattering smile, “Forget about him,
16-75.
let’s talk about us!
Estelle frowned, “What about us?”
“You’re playing innocent! Listen, you’ve been missing from Eagle Valley for two years in these two years people have gone crazy, thinking our Eagle Valley just disappeared without a trace” Josiah excitedly grabbed her wrist, Let’s take on a mission. Let’s bring back the glory of our Eagle Valley!”
