Estelle hung up the phone and quickly went up, “What are you doing here?”
“Ms. Simmons called me that you and Kya were taken to the police station. Are you okay? Where’s Kya?” Emily asked, frowning.
Estelle had a complicated expression. She looked back at the shocked Charlie and whispered, “Kya’s…over there!”
Emily lifted her head and locked eyes with Charlie. Her body trembled slightly, and she involuntarily took a step back.
Charlie stared straight at her, “Emily!”
He seemed to suddenly realize something. Looking down at Kya in his arms, he was filled with shock, “Kya is your child?”
Kya had already seen Emily and shouted happily, “Mommy!”
Charlie almost couldn’t hold onto Kya. How did he not think of it? Something about Kya’s features always seemed familiar to him. Estelle had always told him that Kya was her friend’s child.
Estelle was a loner and didn’t have many friends. Why hadn’t he thought it could be Emily? Maybe because he never thought she would get married and have a child! She had left for less than three years, and she already had a child!
Emily was equally shocked. She didn’t dare to go up and hold Kya, just anxiously looked at Estelle.
Estelle shook her head, indicating that Charlie did not know he was Kya’s father.
Emily relaxed a little. She steadied her emotions and said softly, “Mr. James, long time no see!”
Charlie’s eyes were filled with deep pain, and he stared at her intensely memories of the past flooding his mind.
Their encounters, the days they lived together at the Royal Mansion after she hurt him, the day she held a box with a photo album and a castle, crying that she had no home anymore… All the past was vivid in his mind. He never forgot her face.
Including her betrayal!
Over the past two years, he had always wondered what her life was like abroad. Did she have a new love? What had she become? Now, she appeared in front of him again!
She seemed to have not changed at all. Her big eyes were clear and playful, always appearing weak and innocent. Her face was still tender, with a few strands of hair hanging on her face.
But she was married!
Charlie’s pain made it hard for him to breathe; he couldn’t say anything to her.
“Is this your daughter?” Charlie looked at Kya and asked unwillingly, “Is she your own?”
Emily pursed her lips, nodded slightly, and reached out to hold Kya.
Charlie’s face immediately became colder.
Jonathan stepped forward and said quietly, “It’s too hot, let’s not stand here, let’s go back.”
Charlie looked at Emily for a moment, then walked outside.
His car was parked at the Royal Mansion, so they all rode back in Jonathan’s car. Charlie sat in the passenger seat, his face gloomy all the way. He turned his head to look out the window.
Two years ago, he left the airport, decided to let go of his feelings for Emily, stopped inquiring about her, and stopped interfering with her life. He never thought there would be any contact between them.
However, when he saw her having a child for someone else, he felt extremely uncomfortable and couldn’t calm himself!
Kya was almost two years old. Calculating time, Emily must have had a boyfriend not long after she went abroad, and then got pregnant.
