Chapter 902
He never went back home, and even the Bennitt clan had no clue whether he was still alive.
Later on, Tyler discovered that his little brother had a crush on that girl for years. Seeing his own brother with the girl he was head over heels for with like a punch to the gut.
In this world, no one could stay loyal in love forever. If one didn’t work out, just move on to the next. That had always been Tyler’s life motto. But he never imagined his way of life would cost him this much. Yet, he didn’t think he was in the wrong. He just thought his brother was too soft, too sensitive, and he shouldn’t have fallen for a girl like that. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t get hurt, and wouldn’t run away.
If his brother had been chill about it, maybe they could have shared the girl. Tyler had always been easy–going about these things. As long as everyone was having fun, he didn’t see a problem. But clearly, his brother drew the line somewhere higher.
A son of the Bennitt family ran away from home for a girl, no news about him dead or alive. A golden boy from the Raymond family took on a dangerous mission for a woman. As it turned out, those who took love too seriously never ended well.
And now, Tyler watched as lan geared up for his risky mission.
lan wasn’t like Eric. Eric was brought up in a loving environment, and he was a smooth operator in love. But lan grew up neglected. He threw caution to the wind when it came to love. And when it reached the peak, when it was out of control, that’s when disaster strikes. Before that, Tyler felt he had to do something.
He kinda regretted playing matchmaker for the two, seeing how serious lan was, he could imagine what could happen. On the spacious balcony, both of them had a cigarette between their fingers, lost in silence. After a while, lan finally said, “You’re right”
Tyler punched him on the shoulder, laughing, “I’ve written so many soap opera scripts. Of course, I know what’s up.”
lan lit another cigarette and replied absent–mindedly, “But you’re not entirely right.”
He didn’t know where he was wrong. He got bitten by Maja twice, slapped in the face, and scolded by her. But seeing her still made him happy. It was as if the joy was seeping out of every cell in his body, unstoppable. Maybe it was a form of self destruction. The more joy he reaped from her, the more loneliness would come back tenfold, a hundred fold when she left. But he was willing to endure it
When Mája left Greenfield Gardens, she was boiling with anger, and felt utterly helpless. All she could think about was Darlene’s pregnancy, and lan- wanting to terminate it.
Her head was throbbing with pain, but she remembered to take Coco with her when she came back. She rested a bit at Rosewood Manor, and then she went to the hospital to visit Elvis.
Elvis had regained consciousness, he was quietly reading documents in his bed. Even during his hospital stay, he kept himself busy
Maja apologized to him. “I’m sorry, I messed up the lunch”
Elvis adjusted his glasses. He looked weaker than usual but was in good spirits, Ms. Pennyfeather, don’t say that I should be grateful. If you had eaten that food, it might not have just been a few bites”
It was clear he knew, one more bite could have been life threatening. Maja was moved, her throat felt like it was blocked, and she couldn’t say a word. Soon after, Wilma rushed in. “Elvis!”
Wilma was sweating profusely. She must have run all the way here. She just found out about Elvis’s incident, and it scared the life out of her Seeing Elvis, Wilma’s eyes welled up with tears. She threw herself into his arms and cried.
Elvis frowned and tried to push her away, but Wilma clung onto him like an octopus.
After she had cried, Elvis’s chest was wet with her tears. Wilma grabbed a tissue and wiped her tears away fiercely. “I heard someone poisoned you, who did it?”
Her eyes were red with rage, as if ready to go after the culprit right then and there. But Maja said, “You should go back to filming
Wilma deflated like a punctured balloon. She had promised Maja to follow his arrangements. “Alright”
She looked at Elvis reluctantly, “Take care of yourself.”
Elvis wasn’t as warm towards her as usual, so he just nodded. Wilma felt heartbroken. She could only leave step by step, looking back after each step. After she left, Maja massaged her temples. “Ian’s people poisoned him, and lan wants to protect her, and she’s pregnant now, I’m at my wits‘ end?
Elvis had heard about Maja and lan, and now another woman was carrying lan’s child. He was slightly surprised. He instinctively looked at Maja, but her face was calm.
