The chance was not originally hers, but the student who was supposed to go suddenly had a hand injury and couldn’t play the piano anymore, so the recommendation went to Alma.”
Upon hearing this, Maja had a hunch that something fishy was happening.
“Look into it. See if we can contact the student who was supposed to be recommended.”

Just as she was about to continue digging into this matter, she got a call from Holden.
“Grandpa Holden.”
She was always very respectful toward him. Grandpa Holden was the only person in the Raymond family she liked.
“Maja, how about coming over for dinner tonight? You promised me before. You should have a meal with lan.”
This was something she agreed to a long time ago, promising to maintain a superficial harmony with fan even after their divorce.
Not wanting to turn him down, Maja simply replied, “Alright.”
“I’ll have lan pick you up.”
‘I’ll drive myself over.”
“He’s coming from there anyway, and he can just swing by and pick you up.”
Maja was at a loss for words. After all, with Selena’s recent incident, no one knew how the older man was doing.
She worked until six in the evening, dealing with a bunch of paperwork. Just as she was about to call Elvis to ask about the actress, her office door swung open, and lan walked in.
She had thought he would wait for her downstairs.
She frowned slightly.
She got up, grabbed her bag and was ready to go.
lan quickly walked over, trying to help her with her bag, but she avoided him.
His fingers brushed against the back of her hand. It felt warm.
“No need, I got it.”
Her tone was too calm. She walked a few steps ahead and said, “Let’s go.”
lan stood there, looking a bit unhappy. But today was the first time they were returning to the Raymond Mansion together for dinner, so he swallowed his pride and walked by her side.
Just as they were about to get in the elevator, Elvis called.
He sounded a bit frantic.
“Elvis, what’s up?”
“Mr. Pennyfeather, I’m at the hospital.”
Maja’s eyes hardened, her tone calm, “What happened?”
“Some strangers attacked me. Luckily, a passerby saved me, or my hand would’ve been ruined.”
He said it casually, but Maja knew how harrowing the situation was Those people actually wanted to ruin his hand?
The elevator dinged, indicating they were at the underground parking lot. She should be concerned about his situation, but she promised to have dinner at Holden Raymond’s, and lan was still with her
“Did you get your hand checked?”
“I did, it’s fine. But there’s a bit of trouble with the actress. She agreed to cooperate with us right before I left her place. However, she just called me a minute ago, saying she won’t be signing up with Star Movie Group anymore. Someone probably bought her out.
After all, she was just losing a role. She would definitely agree if someone else offered better resources to buy her out.
So much for the plan of having her and Wilma portray a deep friendship.
Maja lowered her head. It looked like she needed to investigate Wilma’s past fights first.
Once in the car, she checked the trending topics on Twitter and found over ten thousand new comments on her account, all demanding that the Star Movie group fire Wilma.
