A flicker of panic flashed in lan’s eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but no sound came out.
He followed Maja out in silence.

lan stood there for a moment before saying in a deep voice, “I’ll take you home.”
Maja took a deep breath, then looked up at him.
“Can I take your silence now as an apology? If you really think you did something wrong, you should have Connie put in jail for the death of my cousin. You, her cousin, not only didn’t do anything after she indirectly caused my cousin’s death, but you also came to take advantage of me.”
She said all of this with a calm voice.
Anger came from care, but indifference was what lan feared most-
