Chapter 793
It was raining at night. Maja, under an umbrella, asked Zoey, “Is everything sorted out?”
Zoey, all drenched, sneezed and nodded, “Yeah, all sorted”
But she didn’t bring up the matter of the three million dollars with Maja.
“Alright then, crash at my place tonight. If you need a place to stay, feel free to pick a room in our company’s residential area for artists.”
That’s why Maja was always sorting out accommodation for her artists. Because in Greenfield, rent took up more than half of one’s salary.
Zoey was indeed homeless at the moment, so she nodded.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, I really appreciate this.”
Maja didn’t say anything. Zoey was her assistant, a very capable woman. Women like that should never be knocked down by a guy.
They both returned to Rosewood Manor.
As soon as they got out of the car, Maja heard a dog barking. A big shadow came running and started wagging its tail at her legs.
Zoey loved dogs, but because Murray didn’t, she never had one to accommodate him.
Seeing Coco, Zoey’s eyes immediately lit up.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, do you have a dog?”
“Yeah, this is Coco, quite a rascal.”
Zoey couldn’t help but squat down and hug Coco’s face.
Coco was always in good health, with shiny fur and sparkling eyes.
After watching for a while, Zoey’s tears suddenly fell, but she bit her lip hard not to break down.
Maja knew she needed an outlet. Seven years of feelings, seeing a man’s true colors overnight. How could she recover instantly?
“I’ll go tell Maria to get your room ready. I have to work late tonight. You can play with Coco for a while, then head in, take a shower, and get some rest, Don’t think about anything. Zoey, I promise you that Star Movie Group will definitely become a great company in the future. You’ll always be by my side, and when the time is right, I’ll give you shares.”
Zoey lowered her head, tears flowing harder.
“Yeah, I know, thank you. I’ll work hard.”
Maja patted her head gently, hugged her, and went inside.
After Maja left, Zoey let go of Coco, the tears flowing even more fiercely.
Coco was very sensible, quietly lying at her feet without making a sound, occasionally wagging its tail.
It was then that Zoey realized that dogs were more reliable than men.
After returning to her room, Maja opened her laptop to look at some documents.
It was now eleven at night, and her phone received a message from a stranger.
[Please unblock me!]
Seeing this message, she suddenly remembered that she had been so busy signing Elvis that she had forgotten about lan.
She immediately unblocked him.
In no time, lan sent a message.
[What are you up to?]
After sending the message, lan scrolled through the emojis and finally sent a rose.
He rarely texted, with conversations never exceeding three rounds.
Not to mention sending emojis.
Seeing the rose, Maja frowned and sent a question mark.
[?]
lan then replied with two question marks.

Was lan okay? Maja put her phone aside and continued to check the files of her recently signed artists.
When she was ready to sleep, lan sent another message.
Maja, are you asleep?]
She turned off her phone screen, pretending not to see it, and began thinking about Wilma.
lan was still waiting for a reply.
But after ten minutes, there was no response, like a stone tossed into the sea.
He would rather be blocked; at least then he’d know she didn’t see the message, and that’s why she didn’t reply.
I have not checked in here for some time as I thought it was getting boring, but the last several posts are good quality so I guess I will add you back to my everyday bloglist. You deserve it my friend 🙂
