After lan put it on her, he kissed her lightly on the lips.
“This is your Christmas present.”
Maja suddenly remembered that she hadn’t prepared any gift for him.
He stood up, glanced at the time, they had been making out for two hours.
Unbelievably, they had been kissing for two hours and they didn’t even realize when the time passed by
“I got to go, first to visit Grandpa, then off to Raymond Mansion. You chill here in Greenfield Gardens and set off at seven.”
“Okay.”
Her cheeks were still flushed, sitting on the sofa, all weak and limp.
In lan’s eyes, she was like a tempting piece of cake of which he wanted to have a taste every day.
So, at that moment, seeing her like that, he really wanted to waste more time with her, go a bit further, and just ravage her.
But he controlled his temptations, and then left.
As he left the room, he couldn’t help but look back at her, a little reluctant.
So, he added another sentence,
“Don’t be late tonight, see you at half past seven sharp.”
Maja nodded, “I will be there in time.”
lan chuckled, and then left with relief.
When he went to visit his grandpa, grandpa was not welcoming, so lan didn’t even enter the old house.
Through the heavy door, he could hear Holden Raymond’s voice.
“Give me less trouble, and I’ll live a bit longer!”
lan was helpless, he had to let someone leave the gift at the door. After that he went to pick up Steve.
At that moment, Steve was not at Raymond Mansion, he had to come back from somewhere else.
Phelan went to pick him up.
When Steve got in the car, neither of them engaged in any conversation.
As they neared Raymond Mansion, he asked, “lan, how’s your head?”
“Still recovering.”
Steve opened his mouth, staring blankly and seriously ahead, “There’s been an increase in people sneaking across the border recently, not sure what they’re up to, be careful.”
lan didn’t say anything, just nodded.
The atmosphere between them was somewhat alien.
When the car stopped at Raymond Mansion, lan spotted Selena waiting at the front door.
Selena was evidently dressed up today, she ignored lan and ran over to Steve.
“Honey!”
Steve frowned, a flash of impatience in his eyes.

His lawyer had been trying to get Selena to sign the divorce agreement, but she was still not agreeing to it.
He pushed Selena away, “Go in.”
Selena’s face turned cold, her eyes quickly reddening.
She then looked at lan, and forced a smile, saying, “lan, go in, dinner’s ready.”
Christmas dinner was prepared early, they started at two in the afternoon.
lan didn’t say anything, he subconsciously didn’t want to go in.
After sitting down on the sofa, Steve asked him if his head had been hurting a lot recently.
“It’s okay.”
“Don’t work yourself to death.”
Steve had always been a strict father, due to his busy work, he rarely had time to come home, he was not very close to other family members. The only one he could talk to a little more was Eric, because Steve was Eric’s boss. Just same as when Steve’s father was not yet retired, his father was Steve’s boss.
lan tried to recall how he used to interact with his father but could only maintain the usual indifference.
Steve thought for a moment, reached into his pocket, where there was a good luck charm.
He had very little vacation time, he could only rest for two days during Christmas, one of those two days he went to the church to pick a cross for his
son.
However, years of silence made him unable to take out the cross, so his fingertips moved in his pocket, but in the end, they fell back weakly.
“Your grandpa has sent your grandma away, your mom and I are going to divorce, and no one will bully you in this house anymore.”
When Steve said that, he didn’t avoid Selena.
Selena was so angry that she almost passed out, her whole body shaking.
“Steve, what the hell do you mean? Do you think I’m not good to our son? That was your mother’s doing, I didn’t know anything about it. Plus, I gave birth
to him with great difficulty, and now you’re saying I’m bullying him, what the hell did I do wrong?!”
Steve’s face was very cold, “All these years of neglect and ignorance are also a form of bullying.”
Hearing him say that, Selena found it laughable.
“All these years, how many times have you come back to see them, what right do you have to say that?”
Because Steve held someone in his heart, he reluctantly married her, had children, and then was busy with work, rarely coming home.
Now this man was standing on a moral high ground accusing her, it was just laughable.
Steve’s face turned ugly for a moment as he retorted, “I had no choice!”
Selena laughed coldly, “You just can’t forget that woman! lan, look, this is your dad’s true face, he doesn’t care about you, he just wants Eric to help him secure his position at work!”
Steve stood up and angrily said, “Shut up!”
“I won’t! I’m going to say it! I gave you two kids, why the hell are you divorcing me! You love Lillian, does she love you? You’re just a backup!”
