Chapter 663
The doctor was stumped, as the test results did show no problems.
“Perhaps you have a crush on this lady, which makes you nervous,” he suggested.
lan’s face turned frosty immediately.
He thought the doctor was incompetent.
Without a word, he strode out of the room, bumping into Phelps who was waiting outside.
Phelps gave lan a once–over, asking. “How did it go?”
lan ignored him, walking straight past him and leaving.
Only then did Phelps remember that lan had memory issues and probably had no idea who he was.
Phelps then entered the room and asked the doctor,
“Is there something wrong with him?”
“Except for some after–effects in his head, he’s quite healthy.”
Phelps was skeptical. If lan took the trouble to come to the hospital, he must be feeling unwell.
“What are his symptoms?”
The doctor hesitated for a few seconds before answering.
“Dr. Herrington, his symptoms are eerily similar to those of being in love. Rapid heartbeat, sweaty palms due to nervousness, and possible dizziness from excessive excitement.”
Phelps raised an eyebrow, chuckling, “Did lan really say that?“)
“Mr. Raymond just walked out, he probably didn’t buy it.”
It was unbelievable. Wasn’t love the most common emotion?
How come lan didn’t even understand that?
At this moment, lan had already left the hospital. The cold wind outside made him feel much better.
He took out a cigarette to smoke, but his body was still immersed in the intimacy he had just shared with Maja.
He frowned.
Although he didn’t have his past memories, he still had memories from his time in the military.
lan had crawled through swamps with a bunch of strapping men, where bugs would sometimes crawl up their pant legs. After training, they took showers in a bathhouse where people would drop things, making the injuries from training seem even more painful when soaked in the water.
Sometimes the guys would start talking about women, telling crude jokes one after another.
Though lan was a man of few words, he gradually learned how to treat women.
Just like on the battlefield, action should be taken directly, but the feeling just now was different.
After a while, he felt much better.
lan tossed his cigarette butt into a nearby trash can, got in his car, and ignored everything else.
When Maja returned to Rosewood Manor, she washed her hands several times.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she noticed a light bite mark on her neck.
She couldn’t help but recall the sexy moan lan let out when he buried his head in her neck.
She quickly washed her face to clear her head.
When she was sitting in her bedroom, Maja called Zoey over.
“Ms. Pennyfeather.”
Zoey was a competent assistant who never asked too many questions. She just did what Maja told her to do.
“Zoey, have someone from the company look into Nolan’s reputation at school. Preferably from within the student body, to get a more accurate picture. Also, how’s Meetman doing?”
“Meetman is doing much better now, but he’s still living in that alley. He doesn’t have the money to move elsewhere just yet.”
Maja furrowed her brows.
If she was going to cultivate her own people, the first step would be to sort out their living situation.
“These are the documents needed for tomorrow. Recently, our people have been hanging around the Skyrim Film Academy looking for scripts, but they haven’t found anything satisfactory.”
“Pull them back for now and have them investigate Nolan,”
Even though the Star Movie Group was just starting out, the work was well–distributed, even down to the paparazzi. They were there to dig up some dirt.
Most of the people in the company were split from the original Pennyfeather Group. Now that they had entered the film industry, they were all excited and eager to work. After all, gossiping was a common human trait, and they enjoyed their jobs.
“Okay, Ms. Pennyfeather. Anything else?”
Maja shook her head.
Zoey lowered her head shyly, “I was hoping to take a couple of days off. I’m meeting my boyfriend’s parents to discuss wedding plans. We’ve been picking out our house, and we’ve both paid–for half of it. We’ve been on the mortgage for half a year now, so it’s about time we got married.”
Maja quickly transferred $10,000 to her, saying, “Congratulations on your wedding.”
“Ms. Pennyfeather, this is too much.”
“If you need more, just call me.”
Though Maja and Zoey had only known each other for a few months, they had a good working relationship.
After Zoey left, Maja went back to reviewing the documents for the next day. She kept at it until 2 a.m. before dragging her tired body to bed.
After Erlinda left, she returned to the’Skyrim Film Academy.
The last class of the day ended at eight, and it was Nolan’s class.
The classroom was packed with youthful students, all excited about scoring Nolan’s class.
Only Erlinda was huddled in the corner. As soon as class was over, she grabbed her books and tried to leave.
But at that moment, Nolan pushed his glasses up and said, “Erlinda, come with me to my office.”
Erlinda froze, her face turning deathly pale in an instant.
