“Penny?”
Maja stirred slightly, apparently not asleep.
lan tossed the bag in his hand directly in front of her, “See if you need anything.”
His tone was flat, and he went back to his computer to continue his work.
The painkillers were starting to work, the intense pain was subsiding.
Maja opened the bag and looked surprised when she saw the period panties. She hadn’t expected lan to buy those. Her current pants were already dirty, and this was what she needed the most.
“Mr. Raymond, can I borrow a pair of your pants?”
Jan stiffened, about to rebuke her unreasonable request.
But seeing her sweating and weak, he suddenly lost the will to argue and stopped nitpicking with the patient.
He went to his bedroom, opened the wardrobe, grabbed a pair of new suit pants and threw them to her.
Maja felt a bit awkward, but she needed to clean herself up, otherwise, she was too uncomfortable.
She headed to the bathroom.
However, lan’s obsession with cleanliness kicked in, and he abruptly stood up.
“You’re using my bathroom?”
Maja nodded weakly, her face pale.
His brows furrowed, he quickly called the front desk to ask if the other room on the top floor was occupied.
When he found out it was, his face darkened even more.
Maja had already made her way to the bathroom, and for some reason, seeing lan’s disappointed expression, she felt a bit relieved. lan followed her, his tone icy.
“You go back now, I’ll have someone pick you up, you can’t use the bathroom.”
Maja looked up at him and asked seriously, “Why can’t I? You’ve even made love to me in there before.”

lan felt a chill run down his spine, he was obviously shocked by this news.
But what Maja said next, made his expression change even more.
“You once told me you liked me and wanted to be my lover.”
“You’re talking nonsense.”
lan retorted without hesitation.
Seeing the disgusted expression on his face, Maja felt both pain and pleasure.
Taking advantage of his daze, she entered the bathroom.
She was too weak and sat in front of the bathtub for quite a while before starting to bathe.
lan knocked on the door.
“Penny, come out.”
Just thinking about someone using his bathroom gave him goosebumps, it was unbearable.
But the door was already locked from the inside.
Maja cleaned herself up inside, took off her pants, threw them in the trash can, then tied up the bag.
When she came out clean, lan was back at the sofa continuing his work.
She quickly went over and picked up the suit she had used as a cushion.
“Mr. Raymond, let me take this back for cleaning.”
“It’s dirty, throw it away.”
He didn’t bother to look up at her, as if she was less attractive than the data on his screen.
Maja lowered her head and really threw the suit into the trash.
Ian finally looked up and noticed she was wearing his pants.
The waist was obviously too big, so she had to use a belt she found somewhere to tighten it, causing the upper part of the pants to be all wrinkled.
She was still wearing her own clothes, slightly damp, but her complexion was much better than the earlier despairing state.
He sighed and said, “You’re better now, you can go.”
Maja nodded and was about to leave when she couldn’t help but say one more thing.
“Jeff is your most trusted person.”
If he continued to distrust everyone, the people of the Raymond family will continue to attack him, after all, there was strength in numbers.
Now they were taking advantage of his memory loss to intensify their attacks.
They also expected that lan wouldn’t tell Holden about this.
lan didn’t raise his head, his tone still indifferent, “You don’t need to worry about these things, Penny, I’ve fired you. Whatever our past relationship was, it doesn’t exist now, don’t dwell on the past.”
Maja immediately stopped talking, she wasn’t clinging to the past.
When she opened the door and left, lan stopped what he was doing.
The computer screen was full of gibberish, his composure was all an act.
When she came out in his pants, looking weak but with bright eyes.
He could almost see her every move through the frosted glass.
Although he forced himself not to look too much, the sound of running water stirred his heart.
He kept thinking about what she said, about the bathroom.

lan’s brow furrowed slightly, then the person on the other end of the phone continued.
