Maja bumped into Jeff as she was leaving the room. 

“Penny, where are you off to?” 

He had gotten used to seeing Maja around the hotel. 

Maja gave a little smile, “I got fired.” 

Jeff was at a loss for words. 

“Jeff, the doctor said Mr. Raymond can’t handle too much stress right now. So, we must break the news about work to him slowly. If he can’t remember something, don’t try to remind him.” 

Jeff nodded, thought for a moment, and then comforted her, “Mr. Raymond only has a temporary brain injury.” 

Maja knew but couldn’t hide her sadness and resentment, 

“I should get going then.” 

Jeff could only nod. 

When Maja got home, she sat on the couch in a daze, her hand was a little red. 

As her skin was soft, even a little touch would do that. 

In the past half a month; Carlene had been thrown into jail by Holden, no one could save her. 

Edith left Greenfield, Selena refused to divorce, still tangled up with Steve. The Casson family got involved, but even after knowing that they were wrong, the two families were still at each other’s throats. 

But Holden didn’t care about all that, he only said one thing, if lan doesn’t wake up, don’t talk about anything else. 

Now lan woke up, but his head was messed up, and who knew if he would have more serious problems in the future. 

Maja leaned back in her chair, one hand stroking the place lar had hit, her eyes moist. 

What a jerk. 

Someone came in and put some documents in front of her. 

“This is the real story of Harden and Meetman’s divorce. Harden was caught cheating at home by Meetman. To prevent Meetman from spreading rumors, she accused him of having an affair and even made–up evidence of being abused. All those people were bought off by her. Also, this is the latest evidence, Harden’ leverage over Laura’s parents, nothing more than the photos of her lover that she was cheating with. Because she and her lover were too indulged, the guy was her assistant, and they had intimate things even in the Tuttles‘ house and Laura’s parents took photos.” 

Maja thought the people Holden left her with were quite useful, but she had been by lan’s side for the past half month and hadn’t had time to deal with Harden. 

If Laura was still unconscious, Harden wouldn’t dare to make a move. 

But because Maja didn’t show up last time, Harden was annoyed and sent more frequent messages. 

“Do we have those photos?” 

“We do, but Harden has a lot of fans because of her domestic abuse news. If these photos get out, no one will believe these. They’ll just think these are fake and she’s being framed.” 

“I see. I’ll figure something out.” 

The bodyguard left the documents and left. 

Maja rubbed her temples. Ten minutes later, she got a call from Jeff. 

“Jeff.” 

Jeff sounded helpless on the other end, “Ms. Penny, I got fired too.” 

Maja was taken aback. 

Jeff had been with lan for so many years, at least he should know lan’s preferences, why would he suddenly get fired? 

“Ms. Penny, you should come over. Mr. Raymond wants me to leave.” 

Maja was speechless. 

After hanging up, she immediately drove to the hotel. 

Jeff was waiting for her downstairs. Seeing her, he smiled. 

“Ms. Penny, I think Mr. Raymond still wants you by his side.” 

Maja wanted to ask “how did you figure that out“, but lan’s injuries hadn’t fully healed, so he needed someone to be with him. 

I’ll go up and see him first. The Raymond Corporation’s affairs might need to be handed over to you soon.” 

Jeff nodded and drove away. 

Maja took the card Jeff just gave her, and when she reached the top floor, she swiped the card to enter. 

lan was on the phone. 

That’s weird. 

lan remembered everything about work, but when it came to people, he only remembered Holden. 

lan’s bath towel was gone, replaced by pajamas. After hanging up the phone, he turned to see her, and his brow furrowed. 

“What are you doing here again?” 

“Mr. Raymond, your injuries haven’t healed. You need someone by your side.” 

lan’s head was indeed hurting, so he walked straight to the bedroom to take some rest. 

Maja thought for a moment and brought him a glass of water. 

He didn’t go to sleep right away but sat on the bed reading a book. Seeing her enter his bedroom, the grip on his book tightened. 

“Did I let you in my bedroom before?” 

Not just the bedroom, they even shared the same bed. 

But Maja didn’t dare to say that so she just nodded. 

lan glanced at her and said, “Stay in the living room, don’t come into my bedroom.”
