Chapter 615
The room felt silent for a few seconds before lan broke the silence.
“What do you want to make you happy?”
His handsome, indifferent brows flickered with a cold aura, his features as sharp as frost. This time, he didn’t forcefully pull her towards him. Instead, he genuinely engaged her in conversation.
She handed him a glass of water, her demeanour sincere,
“Mr. Raymond, you can propose other conditions.”
“Become my assistant. The Raymond Corporation is expanding into the film industry, and I heard you have some experience in that area?”
Maja didn’t answer. She had previously invested in Tyler’s film, and that wasn’t exactly a secret.
lan accepted the water from her, twirling the glass in his hands. His agarwood bracelet was particularly eye–catching.
“You don’t need to submit any documents for this job. Starting from now, corne with me to the Raymond Corporation. I will personally pay your salary. Leveraging the Raymond Corporation to enter more film circles will benefit you.”
His voice was indifferent, and suddenly, he put down the glass and leaned in close to her ear, “It’s okay if you don’t want to. But at least kiss me.”
Maja’s mind was instantly scrambled, feeling the heat of his breath by her ear, his lips already on her earlobe.
“Don’t you want to?”
His tone turned cold.
At this moment, Maja really didn’t know what lan was thinking. He already had an excellent chief assistant, Jeff, by his side. All she could do was handle some minor tasks.
Moreover, as he said, she was interested in Beck’s proposal because she desperately needed resources in the film industry. If she could leverage the identity of the Raymond Corporation, it would indeed be more beneficial.
Is a kiss all it takes?
Seeing her hesitation, lan took out a check and wrote down one million, “Be my secretary for two months. How many resources you want to obtain from the Raymond Corporation is up to you. I only have one requirement: that you be on call.”
The check was pushed to her.
Maja’s palms were sweaty, “Are you sure you don’t want to do it?”
“If you want to do it, you can.”
“Mr. Raymond, I can get more from the Raymond Corporation than you think.”
lan found it amusing. Was this woman really dumb or just pretending?
He had already said before that he was willing to give her several hundred million. Now he was just giving it to her differently.
What he cared least about was money.
Now that she had just divorced and was striving for her career, it was the time she needed a man most. And it was his best opportunity.
“Penny, as long as I’m here, the Raymond Corporation won’t go bankrupt.”`
Maja didn’t say a word.
Only then did lan trap her between the sofa and his arm, gently kissing her lips.
His phone had been ringing by the side, a call from Carlene.
Apart from Carlene, there were also other members of the Shepard family.
It had been an hour past the agreed time, and the people from the Raymond Corporation were nowhere to be seen. The Shepard family was getting a bit anxious.
Maja saw the flickering note on the phone screen and couldn’t help but stretch out her hand to wrap it around lan’s neck.
lan’s gaze darkened, and his lips slowly moved downwards.
They kissed for about forty minutes before he finally let go and picked up his phone to check it.
Maja was already drowsy, her body weak and limp, like a noodle.
He put down his phone and buttoned her shirt back up one by one.
“Jeff will send you my schedule for the next two months.”
Maja felt weak, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Although they hadn’t done anything, his passionate kiss had accelerated her heartbeat.
She suddenly regretted it.
But if she said it now, lan might immediately sign the contract with the EverBest Group.
When she felt her legs give way, she heard him ask again, “How long until the refurbishment at Greenfield Gardens is complete?”
It had been half a year now, with so many workers, it should have been wrapping up.
“It’s almost done. Silverstone Enterprises added a lot of work, but everything is going smoothly. I estimate that the formaldehyde tests will begin in about half a month.”
“Did you keep the studio?”
“Mmm.”
Man helped her up, and seeing her unsteady, he gently laughed.
