Whenever Beck mentioned his sister, it was as if he was talking about a massive headache.
“My parents spoil her rotten, my brother listens to her every whim, and whatever she wants, the Sanders family will bend over backwards to get it. She used to be into jewellery design, but now she’s got this thing about Windhelm’s oil paintings and even wants me to find her a master painter.”
“A master painter, you mean Herbert, right? His paintings are a big deal.”
Beck chuckled, “Yeah, Herbert. But he’s quirky, won’t change his mind for anyone.”
Everyone instinctively looked at Maja.
By now, everyone knew that Maja was Herbert’s protégé.
But Maja didn’t budge. She just sat there, silently staring at the wine bottle on the coffee table.
Seeing her like this, Carlene started to stir the pot.
“Penny’s his favourite. If you want to see Herbert, just give her a holler.”
But everyone knew that Herbert didn’t give a rat’s ass about money, and he was as stubborn as a mule. He might even reject his own student. Carlene deliberately threw this question at Maja, then smirked.
Beck turned to Maja, who smiled back at him, “Mr. Sanders, I can talk to my teacher, but if he’s not interested, there’s not much I can do.” But Beck’s next remark made the atmosphere a bit awkward.
“Since Penny is Herbert’s favourite, why not have you teach my sister? How about you come with me to North America when you have time? My sister is driving me nuts.”
Maja was swamped. The Star Movie group could have problems at any moment, she hadn’t secured any resources for Shawn, and the only way the group was making money was by investing in small web dramas. This couldn’t go on forever, and they needed to break into the circle.
Beck pulled out his business card.
“Penny, you must have heard of my family’s company. If you come with me, I promise to meet your every need.”
Upon seeing the golden card and the company’s name, Maja’s pupils contracted.
This was the world’s largest entertainment company. They used to have a monopoly in the industry, and the major projects they’ve developed have become popular amusement parks worldwide.
For her, this was an opportunity.
For the Star Movie group, this was also an opportunity.
She immediately took the card, “Mr. Sanders, I…”
Before she could finish her sentence, someone pinched her leg.
She frowned and looked at the man beside her.
lan’s face was icy, and he was struggling to keep his temper in check.

Carlene seemed to get it and started to stir things up again.
“Penny’s such a knockout, and I heard Mr. Sanders doesn’t have a proper girlfriend?”
But he had had his fair share of flings.
Beck raised an eyebrow, his gaze meeting lan’s in mid–air.
“Mr. Raymond, I don’t have any special feelings for Penny. It’s just my sister is being a pain.”
Then he changed the subject.
“Speaking of which, Mr. Raymond, you’ve met my sister, right? I remember she’s been in touch with you?”
There was a flash of confusion in lan’s eyes. He immediately denied it.
“I don’t know Ms. Sanders well.”
Beck assumed he didn’t want to mention his dealings with another woman in front of Penny.
After all, they had been corresponding by letter. His sister had admitted as much.
His gaze returned to Maja.
“Ms. Penny, would you like to come with me to North America?”
Maja really wanted to go, but lan’s presence was too overwhelming, so she reluctantly declined.
What a shame. Opportunities like this don’t come around every day.
She hadn’t been there long, and after taking a call from Zoey, she was ready to leave.
lan stood up to take her home, but when they got to the yard, he got straight into the car with her.
Maja was surprised, “Mr. Raymond?”
Sitting in the passenger seat, lan warned her, “Stay away from Beck. He’s a notorious player in North America, his ex–girlfriends could form a line around the world.”
To leave quickly, Maja had no choice but to nod.
lan suddenly smiled, and his fingers gently touching the agarwood bracelet on his wrist.
Anything he can do, I can do.”
Maja clutched the steering wheel, and after a pause, she said, “Can you stop Mr. Raymond from investing in the EverBest Group?”
lan frowned at her light laughter, “So don’t make promises you can’t keep”
lan suddenly pulled her toward him, looking closely at her face.
“What if I say I can? What’s in it for me?”
Maja quickly weighed the pros and cons. If the EverBest Group couldn’t get the investment, Carlene would be swamped.
The EverBest Group would definitely go bankrupt within half a year, Carlene had to find new backers quickly, or she wouldn’t be able to take her on.
“What do you want, Mr. Raymond?”
“I want you to divorce your husband.”
When he said this, he was very firm, his eyes locked on hers.
