lan was quietly puffing away in his car in the distance, his fingers clutching the burning cigarette, his palm resting on the window, chillingly cold inside the
car.
The corners of his eyes were tinged with red from anger and frustration.
Fitch sighed lightly, leaning back in his chair, “These guys are like ghosts, always making a hasty escape by helicopter every time they show up, and they’re all untraceable black accounts, impossible to find any info on. But this has been their biggest move yet. I bet they will start popping up more often.”
lan didn’t say anything. Even with the powerful Raymond family behind him, they were helpless against these fearless black accounts.
They’ve caught a few of them before, but these guys always managed to end up dead just before they were captured.
Corpses with no identity information are useless to them.
lan checked his phone, rubbing his brows, “Let’s head back.”
That night, only Maja managed to sleep soundly till dawn.
The next day at work, she barely sat down when Shawn’s manager rushed in.
“Ms. Penny, bad news, Shawn’s gone missing!!”
Maja’s heart raced. She immediately stood up.
“What do you mean, ‘gone missing“?”
The manager was too scared to string his words together, “Last night… last night he announced on Twitter that he was leaving his old company. He was in a good mood, and had a few drinks. I was going to take him home myself, but I got a call from home and had a friend take him instead. My friend just told me Shawn walked the last part of the way home himself.”
Shawn was super popular right now, and he could be stalked by crazy fans.
Maja immediately called the police and requested to check the CCTV footage of the route Shawn took.
But the CCTV showed that it wasn’t fans who took Shawn. It was a luxury car.
Maja had someone look into the license plate of the luxury car and found out it belonged to Funfly Darcy: Looked like Funfly wasn’t giving up.
She had tried to force Shawn before, and this time she went straight to him while he was drunk!
Maja managed to get Funfly’s number through her contacts.
But Funfly wasn’t willing to let Shawn go.
“Ms. Penny, Shawn wanted to stay with me. He just signed with some no–name company. What’s wrong with him coming to me?”
Maja was about to say something when she heard Shawn’s voice of fear and disgust on the other end of the line.
Shawn was sober now.
Funfly loved to toy with boys, playing with them till they were completely worn out, and a few even died from depression. But she had a strong influence. and wide connections, and coupled with her relationship with Simstar Entertainment, no one could bring her down.
Maja didn’t have time to continue negotiating with Funfly on the phone. The way she was obsessed with Shawn was worrying, and she probably won’t let him go easily.
That’s when she thought of lan. Funfly was wary of him last time.
She called lan, asking him where he was.
lan was at the Raymond family’s old house, accompanying Holden. Since Holden was discharged from the hospital, he had not been in good shape and spent most of his time lying in bed.
Today was lan’s birthday, so he came to see Holden.
But it was clear that Holden was unhappy with him because of his divorce from Maja. Whenever he saw lan, he got angry, and their conversations were always unpleasant.
Luckily, Maja called at this time. Ian was obviously happy, but Holden Raymond just sneered.
“Is it that woman you’ve been seeing outside?”
At this point, lan didn’t bother to hide it anymore.
“Grandpa, you’ll like her too. I’ll bring her over to meet you sometime.”
Holden was clearly angry, and he pointed at the door.
“Get out!”

Then he picked up the phone and heard Maja asking where he was.
He instinctively thought she was coming to his birthday party.

His birthday was close to his brother Eric’s, but the family only cared about Eric’s birthday. They never remembered his.

The party venue was his other villa, and Tyler and the others were already setting up.
lan gave Maja the address.
lan didn’t need the room to be too fancy, but Tyler loved a good party vibe. He was hanging a bunch of colourful balloons.
lan saw the colourful balloons and frowned, but he didn’t say anything about it. It was just Tyler’s preference.
He just said, “Penny will be here later.”
Tyler was stunned, “She’s coming?”
lan was somewhat happy, his lips curved into a small smile, “Yeah.”
Tyler immediately thought there might still be a chance for these two to get back together.
