lan was suddenly pissed off; he yanked Maja and shoved her into the car. 

Maja’s back was already sore from being pressed against a tree the night before; even her voice was a bit hoarse, and now, being bumped this way, she felt extremely uncomfortable. 

lan stood up and grabbed her chin directly. 

Maja quietly looked at him, her tone filled with confusion. 

“Mr. Raymond, why are you so mad?” 

lan stared at her face for a good while, then chuckled lightly. 

“Do you think I’m green–eyed??

lan let go of her chin and started unbuttoning her clothes. 

“Now, for the sixth time.” 

But before he could undo the first button, he saw the marks under her blouse. 

Because of the dim light, he couldn’t see clearly, but the color was obviously a love bite. 

His hand paused, then he grabbed her wrist and shoved her out. 

“Get lost.” 

Maja almost fell; if not for her quick reaction, she would have knelt on the ground. 

Before she could catch her breath, she saw lan following her out of the car, but he had regained his posh demeanor; he glanced at her like she was trash. “Did you sleep with Samuel?” 

Maja immediately realized that he was talking about the marks on her neck. 

The place he gripped was already red; he only saw a part of it, mistaking it for a love bite. 

She found it amusing and couldn’t help but laugh. 

lan got straight into the car and drove off. 

Maja sat on the ground, and after a while, she felt strength in her legs. 

She touched her neck and swallowed. 

Returning to her car, she drove back to RosenGarden. 

Then she received a call from Zoey. 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, the shares bought by the other party have reached ten percent; they can attend the board meeting tomorrow.” 

With such a high shareholding, they could totally participate in the decision–making of the board. 

If they keep buying, the whole Pennyfeather Group would become theirs. 

“But it’s strange; they only bought up to ten percent and then stopped; it’s like they’re waiting for something.” 

Zoey just started the job, but she was very capable; she would immediately inform Maja about anything. 

Maja felt an unprecedented peace of mind; she didn’t regret promoting her at all. 

“I got it; you rest first.” 

After hanging up the phone, Maja saw a text message from Carlene. 

“Shares have reached ten percent; many shareholders in your company are still contacting me; you’re such a failure, you can’t keep a single shareholder.” 

Maja didn’t respond, and after taking a shower, Carlene sent another message. 

“Same as before, kneel before me and beg for my forgiveness before nine tomorrow night; maybe I’ll consider sparing your company.” 

She found it amusing that Carlene was playing games with her. 

She said “consider sparing“.

“I have 35% of the shares; I’m willing to sell them to you.” The person in charge of the EverBest Group had been buying shares, but they had never had someone with such a high percentage of shares contact them. 

They were thrilled to hear this news. 

After last night’s acquisition, they already owned 16% of the shares; plus this person’s 35%, their shareholding ratio would reach 51%, which means they would have full control of the Pennyfeather Group, and all future decisions of the Pennyfeather Group would be made by them.
