After he left, Maja stood alone in the living room and zoned out for quite a while.
Only when her stomach started growling did she touch her face, feeling as though it was on fire.
She was even a bit out of breath.
She slapped her face a bit, then went to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face before opening the refrigerator.
But apart from some noodles, the fridge was bare.
Starving, she had no choice but to whip up a bowl of noodles.

When Selena first joined the Raymond family, it was all thanks to Edith’s strong support. Actually, lan’s dad liked another woman.
But that woman didn’t come from a good family, seemed to be a woman from a small county town, hadn’t received much education, and even had a boyfriend at the time.
Edith insisted at home, and although she successfully let Selena marry lan’s dad in the end, it also led to a rift between her and him. In recent years, lan’s father rarely returned home and was always on duty. ·
