The dealer pulled out the deck after making sure everyone was ready

During the wait, Maja took another look at him. 

He lifted his head, and their eyes met in mid–air. 

She showed no embarrassment; instead, she smiled graciously as if her glance wasn’t a sneak peek

In Dana’s eyes, Maja’s behavior was undoubtedly disrespectful. She had the audacity to lure him in front of so many people.
