Her mother worried that Dad would be lonely, worried that she won’t marry into a good family.
She had to admit those dreams had become a reality.
Neil was in a tough spot now, with no one around to help him. He had to worry about his grandparents, who needed his care, and the huge debt from ByteWise Technologies. He probably thought those debts wouldn’t need to be paid back if he died.
If Maja really had let Neil go just like that, no matter how smooth her life is in the future, she wouldn’t be able to make up for the regrets she had at that
moment.
But what should she do?
She called Carol Miller to ask about Knox.
However, the financial power of the Miller family was still in the hands of Abner Miller, and Carol wasn’t too clear about the business side of things.
Maja made call after call and finally got through to Samuel.
Samuel was preparing to attend a business dinner in the evening.
The restaurants for these kinds of dinners are expensive, catering mainly to the wealthy……
Samuel’s eyes were sparkling, his lips slightly raised.
“Maja, my dad, and Knox are tight. If I spill this to you, even if my dad’s in jail, he’d be itching to get out and whoop my ass for being such an unfilial son.” He changed his tone.
“But, if you’re willing to be my date tonight, I might consider telling you.”
Without hesitation, Maja asked for the restaurant’s address.
She dressed up carefully and arrived there at seven in the evening.
The restaurant entrance was lavish and prosperous, with Greenfield’s important figures coming and going.
Samuel’s car arrived soon, and his eyes lit up at the sight of her dress.
Maja looked good with both light and heavy makeup, though she usually didn’t wear any. But on that day, she wore light makeup, dressed in a proper ladies‘ suit that showed her sexy figure.
Even Samuel, who had seen many beautiful women, nearly had a nosebleed at that moment.
He thought lan was just wasting resources.
If he were married to Maja, he wouldn’t feel tired even if he made love with her three times a day!

She still extended her hand and hooked it through his arm.
They walked across the magnificent red carpet and reached the private room.
The waiter respectfully opened the door. Inside was a middle–aged man who was preparing to cooperate with Samuel.
However, sitting beside the middle–aged man was a strong and refined woman. Maja knew her very well, and it was Maureen Raymond.
Seeing Maureen, Maja’s steps halted, and she subconsciously tried to let go of Samuel.
Samuel also recognized Maureen and didn’t expect her to be here tonight.
At this point, the middle–aged man had already stood up and introduced himself with a smile.
“Ms. Raymond is in charge of the Raymond family, and the Raymond family is also interested in our project, so I specially arranged this gathering tonight to hear Mr. Brown’s thoughts.”
